It now appears that there is little or no chance of any player being sent off in the NRL. The refs excuse that the incident was ‘not off the ball’ does nothing to mitigate the action of the tackler. Considering Prior was sent off a few weeks ago I’d say your first sentence is off base. Although I agree Matai should have been marched. I did laugh at the fact that he hurt himself going for the big cheap shot. He can book a holiday with Prior, because with his record he will spend a while on the sidelines.
