Does anyone know what the dollar cost of missing the finals is? Seems from a lot of posts that we may hve some financial problems and maybe the club “banked” on going deep into the finals to justify their spend this year.

And seemed like a fair enough assumption at the start of the year, based on our team on paper. We certainly looked like a threat. But nope, no idea how it impacts us financially.

Thanks Gray

I 'm sure the CEO will be making the figures available to the board re the LOSS in dollars for Sheens failure again not making the finals probable hundreds of thousands.

I went to last nights game and left 20 mins after full time, the merch outlets at ANZ - we went past three- were all chokkas……my bro in law bought a scarf b4 the game despite having one at home
Massive $$$$ loss
Merchandise
Bonuses
Finals Membership DriveIt will cut both ways next year too
Dont be fooled by Sheens, we are in a re building phase…thats the Ace up his sleeve to buy time imo, hes conned em before…have they woken up?

2 weeks ago can’t remember where i read it , but the loss of missing out in the finals is in the region of $400,000 in sponsorship bonus , merchandise and memberships for next year will take a hit.
-
Deduct any losses from Sheens pay packet.

When some poor refereeing decisions cost the Tigers some games late in the year, Mr. Humphreys said our failure to make the Finals would cost the Tigers $400,000 in bonuses from our sponsors. You would need to add the gate receipts and merchandise sales, which were lost, as well.

$456,321.78
Posted using RoarFEED 2012This the real figure? or you make it up? haha
It would also depend on how far into the finals you go, obviously. But even playing one game would rake in a fair bit of revenue, we could have even made enough to pay Sheens out. -
My understanding is the Clubs dont get ‘Gate Revenue’ for the Finals, so count that out.
As Humpty mentioned a few weeks back, it looks like the clubs build into Sponsorship Agreements some form of Bonus Structure and this was estimated approx $400k. Surely the NRL has a $ incentive for reaching the Finals also, and as most have mentioned, Merchandise Sales would be greatly improved throughout this period.
The real cost of missing the Finals will come into play next year… Reduced Memberships, reduced Crowds and reduced Merchandise Sales, followed by new Sponsorship Negociations and a greater need to pay ‘overs’ to attract Top Players to a Club which failed to make the Finals?!

Well thats what happens when you let a lunatic have free reign. Only ones to blame are themselves
-
thanks guys…that’s about what I thought…add in the intangible monies like lost membership , merchandise, etc and not to mention alleged salary caps breach penalties and it means we will probably in deep &*(^ financially as well as on the field in 2013.
-
if they strip all our points next year we will only drop 1-2 places max.
