Look at Pettybourne stats … why isn’t he playing more minutes ? he has played 21 minutes and 102 metres in that amount of time he should be getting more time on the field…

i know that , but my question is why not more than 21 minutes when he’s making so many metres , he is fitter than 21 minutes 😒

For me, Pettybourne is the type of forward that Wests Tigers need to play more the 21mins. He runs hard, pumps his legs and lifts the team. He is also great back on the angle (the line that Ellis used to run). Maybe there was some attitude or training issues in round 1 - i don’t think he was injured or Potter didnt like his blonde hair! Cant blame him - he looked like Wesley Snipes in Demolition Man (great movie!!)

              I’ve always rated Pettybourne.

As soon as I saw his first hit up on debut for Souths I thought to myself, how good is this kid!!

                  he made immediate impact.

in his first 7min he made just under 70m

would like to see him get a couple 15min stints in the backrow this week.
still can’t believe he wasn’t picked for rd1.he was the best forward against the roosters and then didn’t even get a game that weekend.
he’s played little football the last month.

would love to see him gradually increase in playing time and get a starting job by round 5-6.

what really impresses me is the involvement .he supported ball runners and provides a legit hole runner and a decoy that can actually be sold.
i’ve got a feeling benji is going to love firing balls to pettybourne .

i just hope he puts in the same effort off the field.
from what i’ve seen he seems like an underachiever,as i can’t understand why he hasn’t achieved more in the game.
could be some cracks in his defense though.

people who have watched souths over the years, what has been holding him back?

this is one player i hope potter can deliver on making a better consistent player.

Yes plainly obvious that Sheens has had no imput into his career

When he returned that ball from the goal line drop out I was in awe

I don’t think I’ve seen a forward run with such commitment in a Tigers jersey EVER

and he gave an offload at the end of it as well.put in another run and then was off woods hip when woods crashed over.he should be given the try assist.

All the Souths fans loved him for his 100% efforts, i think he will turn out to be a very good signing for the Tigers.

Early Days. I can remember Daine Laurie making similar inroads. He’s at the right age to come good as a prop. 100 odd games and 25 years old.

But then again if he was any good Souths would’ve kept him.

Hopefully Pettybourne and Thompson will become more than adequate substitution for CWH

Not if he wanted out. He’d have a hell of a time getting regular minutes with the pack that Souths have assembled. Obviously believed he needed a change in club to have a chance of a regular spot in the 17. As for the Daine Laurie analogy - he had major flaws in his character when it came to doing the hard yards. I can remember a quote from him when he moved over to Penrith. Something to the effect “if I make it, I make it - if I don’t, well it’s not the end of the world”. The minute I read that I knew he’d never be a regular first grader.

Souths wanted him and made an offer, it simply wasn’t big enough because if you look at Souths pack there are plenty of big talented names eating into the cap. Not to mention QLD’s favourite son Inglis on roughly a million.

We offered more and a chance for a bigger on field role.

I hate it when ppl base stuff on stats alone. One of his runs was 25 metres from a drop out when no defence is in reach.

Although I do rate him and would like to see him play more
