On the money . If he stays fit I recon hes going to ge very very good for us. Brings lots of enthusiasm and is very busy. Hasnt been tested like Renolds for the bunnies was in round 1 against easts yet though. After he gave away a thousand penalties last year for backchatting in u/20s he should be a lot smarter and I recon hell realy deveelope into a great 7.

If Miller finds his own comfort zone and is confident to call the play instead of letting Benji and Farrah call them, then YES he will be a great halfback. He needs to back his own abilities. Look how well R.Lui went once he settled in. He just has to not be over awed by the bigger dollar players. He could also use Anasta as a floating 5/8 and put Marshall out further with more room. Why we don’t use some of these ideas is beyond me. Give Miller time, but get a forward pack going forward and dominating and we will really se what he’s made of. The kids got gumption!

Robbie is the key to our attack

Miller takes the pressure off benji and robbie. They don’t have to be involved in every play and it takes the pressure off them to come up with a winning play every time.
Benji can chime in when he sees something on and robbie isn’t constantly having to swap from hooker to first receiverOur attack will only get better the more these three play together

I would love to see Potter come up with an attacking play where Benji, Robbie stand on the short side, but Miller takes the ball wide with Blair, Ayshford, Moltzen and finally Reddy combine with some non contact decoy runners. Could prove very valuable in drawing defense to Robbie and Benji creating an overlap.

In the 1st half of the Parra game when R&B involved Miller more the attack seemed to flow a lot better - similar to how it was with Lui.
But in the 2nd half when under the pump it seemed they by-passed him and the structure went out the window. So did the effectiveness.
R&B are getting there with Miller, but still have a way to go before they are allowing the rest of their team mates to make a valuable contribution.

Ok, the most important thing Miller can provide for now is penetration within the 20m. It was the same with Lui, there were many games where we were attacking inside the 20 and Benji and Robbie just kept getting shut down, then Lui would score or set up a try and the game would change. Manly game at Bluetongue a few years ago is the perfect example. As Lui grew in confidence his impact in attack grew bigger and bigger to the point where he was creating stuff for us as far out as halfway.
This is what Miller needs to be and hopefully he will be. Our half will never the the guy who always organises the play and kicks on the 5th. That’s Farah. He needs to be the one to take charge and organise the team and create when the other two are getting shut down.

This discussion reminds me of why we were so effective in 2005.
Last year we had two playmakers, which is relatively easy to shut down; and we suffered in attack as a result.
In 2010-11 we had three playmakers; R&B & Lui. Which is much harder for a defence to close down, and, as a result, we were a force in the competition.
In 2005 we had four playmakers; R&B, Prince and Hodgo, who could also ball-play in the front line. It is almost impossible for a defence to consistently close down four ballplayers, which our results demonstrated.
If Miller continues to develop and Tedesco gets a call-up to first grade, and he lives up to our expectations, we will be a force to be reckoned with again. Now that’s something to look forward to.
