They just guess a figure and run with it, the media has no idea unless they have seen the contract and the details of the contract with their own eyes. By the sums you’ve provided, do you really believe the other 2mil is divided between the remaining 20 players?

Farah’s likely to be on 700-800k which leaves about 3.5million for 20 players so about 170k per player on average. Quite a few will be on 80k i believe so it’s not exactly that farfetched.
