I want people to have a think about this scenario with an open mind
If you took our current side and took Farah and Marshall out of it and replaced it with Field and Senter and then let it play against our sides from 2000-2003 how would it go ??
So obviously we cancel out the 7 and 9 Who would win ??
Your probably asking yourself has Happy lost the plot , but I’m trying to make a point
Recruitment …… has it really improved in the last 10 seasons
IMO not really , so what is this club going to do about it it can’t take 10 years to sort things out ??
Or maybe any player worth their salt would not be seen dead in a Tigers jersey due to differing reasons ??

How can recruitment improve ? We have had the same guy for 10 years an ex policeman doing our recruiting. Please lets get a young professional in the job.

Have to agree and there is a huge opportunity to pick up some great players coming off contract at the end of '13. But just dont expect them to be playing for us!

Unfortunately for a total ‘‘broom thru the joint’’…you need a board thats all on the same page
We need a broom, we have a divided board…its what weve had since 2000-03I cant see things improving much in years to come while the board, financials, recruitment and general demeanour within the club remain as is…there seems to be no fire, no hunger, an almost ‘‘meh…’’ attitude.
I think I can see what Potter is aiming at when he said ‘‘we need to earn the right to attack’’…im seeing more patient footy but its like playing to try and not lose, rather than playing to win. It will take time and you can see the frustration on some players and the fans.
Junior development is one thing that we seem to do pretty well, but we cannot rely solely on that
Ive always stated I think potter needs at least three years - i know im repetitive - but I fear those he needs behind him to be on the same page wont be
We are still looked at as a flamboyant running passing team…we’re not looked at as tough and this needs changing…we need this culture -

It’s all well and good to want wholesale changes and to talk about support from the board but the simple thing that needs fixing is our bloody defence.
I had high hopes when Potter came on board and he identified that our defence had to improve - last year we averaged 23 points let in each game!
But we still had Royce Simmons as defence coach. I still hoped that if we concentrated on defence in the off season we would go OK this year.
I no longer have those high hopes.
