An eight-month-old Chinese boy is recovering in hospital after a monkey ripped off his testicle and ate it at a Chinese Zoo, Chinese State Media reports.
The horrific incident took place in Guìyáng, the capital of Guizhou province in Southwest China.
According to local reports the boy’s mother was changing his nappy at Guiyang Qianling Wildlife Park when the monkey pounced on the child and tore off his testicle.

An elderly man allegedly picked up the severed appendage but the monkey snatched it back and ate it before it could be tackled.The boy’s injuries are not life threatening.
The animals at the park, which reportedly number near 500, are fed three times a day by wildlife park staff.

Signs at the wildlife park reportedly instruct visitors not to feed the animals, but officials believe the monkey may have mistaken the boy’s genitals for food.
This is not the first attack by a monkey on a visitor at the wildlife park. -
