It’ll be a good day when rep sides are actually picked on form and not reputation……

Some well-deserved selections there - Fifita, Cordner, DCE
Some recurring numpties - Boyd, Thaiday, Myles, Hayne (has played what … three games in four months?)
Some unlucky misses - Brenton Lawrence is a big one for me. Should have been there instead of Myles, Papalii or Tamou

Just remember Tim Sheens has his say in the team and he never liked too many changes

Agreed with everything you said.
Sick of boyd and myles getting picked on reputation from years gone by. Well deserved for fifita, cordner and DCE like you said but the continual selection of tamou is puzzling.
Gallen’s selection is also strange considering he’s had an extremely average year, hopefully parker gets the lock spot over him

Given Scott, Tamou and Fifita are the only recognised props, I’m assuming Thaiday, Myles and Gallen will be used in the front row rotation. I understand on an overseas tour you need to be flexible and have players who can shift into other positions if injury strikes, but I’m of the opinion you pick the best players for each position. There’s 8 backrowers. That’s way too many. England and New Zealand will have huge packs which could hurt us.
Also, there’s 4 fullbacks in the squad. Boyd and Hayne should not be there. Slater is first pick, Inglis covers if Slater goes down.

What has Farah done that these blokes havent?
You dont change winning teams just for the sake of it….all players mentioned have had good seasons
The Kangaroos team have done everything asked of them recently…you dont drop players for winning

Farah was the second best hooker this year. Myles wasn’t among the top props

even if fit he would’ve found a way to get out of the tour… He and Sheens can’t stand each other

I like the squad, if they play anywhere near their best they’ll walk it in.
1. Slater
2. Hayne
3. Jennings
4. Inglis
5. Tate
6. Thurston
7. Cronk
8. Scott
9. Smith
10. Gallen
11. Lewis
12. Bird
13. Parker14. Cherry-Evans
15. Myles
16. Fifita
17. Thaiday -
They will definitely pick this team on form… Form in the Kangaroo Jumper and Origin! Most of the team will be locked in. Those that survived from the Anzac Test will most likely get first shot for the first 2 games.
The kids [Fifita, Papalli, DCE & Cordner] were all picked for the experience and outside of DCE, will most likely play 1 game only on tour.
As far as Backs go, you cant ignore the Inglis/Boyd combination at Origin and Test level. Then you have Brent Tate, who was only picked to play, and will more than likely be playing on the Right Wing. It virtually leaves a Right Centre spot open… Jennings; Hayne & Morris? [Interesting to note Brett Morris is well respected at this level]
The Forwards will be decided based on the decision if Gallen starts at Prop. If not, Myles/Tamou will slot in, but if Gallen starts at 10, Myles will play 13 as he is a definite for the team. You can also lock in Thaiday for the 11, so it virtually leaves 1 backrow spot between Lewis & Bird.
The Utility on the Bench always happens at Test Level, so this will be between DCE or Farah. I’d say both will get equal time at 14 on the tour and the boss will make a decision for the Final. While we have so many Backrowers, Sheens will still have a Prop on the Bench. I’d suggest Tamou, but he might be out of favour with the NSW Selectors after his comments when the Cowboys were knocked out of the Finals. This could be where Fifita gets a jumper, but I’d say they would go with experience first.
We are not the current World Champions, and most games will be serious to ensure we are switched on for the Final.
Go Australia!!!

IMO it was a waste to take both Hayne AND Boyd. Slater is first crack FB, Inglis can slot in if he goes down. My strongest side from that squad is:
1. Slater
2. Boyd
3. Jennins
4. Inglis
5. B Morris
6. Thurston
7. Cronk
8. Scott
9. Smith
10. Fifita
11. Bird
12. Lewis
13. Gallen14. DCE
15. Tamou
16. Thaiday
17. MylesOn form, Cordner should be there ahead of Thaiday and Myles, but it wont happen. He will most likely play the lesser games. Fifita must be in the 17 for each game.
