Les Soloai

I found this just before and thought I’d post it. SMH is the only place I can see that’s mentioned it so it might be nothing but anyway.
Hawaiian Les Soloai catches Wests Tigers’ eye
The Tomahawks’ towering Hawaiian Les Soloai has attracted interest from Wests Tigers and Widnes, according to team management.
The problem with this United States team was that players were drawn from everywhere but the two domestic competitions Stateside. But after one game an American man has attracted interest from professional clubs.
Soloai is one of the Hawaiians uncovered in recent games played near Honolulu. The one 12 months ago, against a Queensland Aborigines side, was threatened by a tsunami.
“We’re talking to (Widnes coach) Denis Betts about him and the Wests Tigers connection is our back rower Eddy Pettybourne,” said team manager Steven Johnson.
"That’s what this is about. You put domestic players with professionals in a team environment and they get to show their best.
“He has paid his way to a lot of things, gone to a lot of trouble, to make this team and it may be about to pay off for him.”

We might have a chance of getting him, because it says on Wikipedia he has previously held a scholarship with the Wests tigers before

RLW as well as the SMH have reported that we’re a chance of signing the big fella so the rumour is out there. He’s playing for the Tomahawks against Australia in quarter finals.
-
I think I saw somewhere that he’s 118kgs… Big boy if that’s the case.
-
he’s solid, saw him against wales and cook islands. Will watch USA vs scotland and of course USA vs Aus.
has potential for sure.
118kg yossarian?? didnt see him up close but he didnt seem that big, unless im mistaken. 110 would be reasonable.

Yeah he’s big, one of the biggest on the field,
Not sure how many minutes he is playing but, may need a heap of conditioning!Posted using RoarFEED 2013

Usual complaint: He is too small for the forwards. Will need building up.
Usual complaint: He is 110 or 118 kgs. He will need conditioning to play in the forwards.
God help me.

Ha ha,
I was mor concerned that he only played 10 mins in the game, so conditioning maybe a problem.
Size isn’t really relevant to conditioning, look at George rose.

Anyone new to NRL will need conditioning….its no complaint, its a fact

He might be good in the RLWC but how is he gonna be in the NRL, it’s a whole new level in the NRL week in and week out he might not be up to it but give him a go in NSW cup if he is good enough give him a few games

He’ll be a state cup player for sure. Adapting to the speed of the game over here will be the real test for him. I’d be absolutely stunned if he made FG in his debut season.

A test yes , but he could be used off the bench late in the season to see how he copes with the speed
