Currently at his third different team in as many years, Wests Tigers winger Kevin Naiqama says he can’t wait to make his debut for the Club this weekend.

Having featured heavily already in the Auckland Nines and in the Club’s two pre-season trial matches — bagging a double against the Parramatta Eels in Alice Springs — the former Knight and Panthers flyer says he can’t wait to be in first-grade this weekend.

“It’s a great opportunity for me this weekend to start on the right wing,” he said.

"I’m also making my debut for the Club, so it’s very exciting in that regard.

"I know I’ll just have to take the season as it comes, but I’ve definitely found a new home here.

“All the boys have made me feel really welcome and I’m enjoying it.”

Set to become the 180th player to play first-grade for the joint-venture, Naiqama has quickly become a fan favourite at Wests Tigers with his Fresh Prince-esque hairdo, but also with his determined performances in defence and his blistering speed in attack.

He’ll no doubt be looking to deliver more of that this weekend against a Titans side certainly not lacking in pace, with Naiqama adamant that the Titans will be tough to beat at home.

“They’re going to come out firing, as with every team in the competition,” he said.

"Everyone is fresh and ready to go, so it’s normally hard at the start of the season. Regardless of what else might be going on, everyone is ready to go in Round 1.

"We’re expecting a tough and physical game from them.

"But at the same time, we’ll be giving it right back when we go up there.

“All the boys are going up there with the aim of leaving no stone unturned.”

Wests Tigers will kick off their 2015 NRL season against the Gold Coast Titans this Saturday, March 7 at Cbus Super Stadium. Kickoff for the match is at 6:00pm local time (7:00pm AEDT).
