Kyle Stanley...5th ACL

KYLE STANLEY SUFFERS FIFTH ACL TEAR

Written by STAFF WRITERS, March 10, 2015
LUCKLESS Sharks recruit Kyle Stanley has most likely played his last NRL game after sustaining the fifth anterior cruciate ligament rupture of his career.

The former Dragons utility, who moved to the Shire club from Wollongong with Gerard Beale this season, was steering the fortunes of NSW Cup side Newtown last Saturday when a sudden change of direction forced him to the sheds late on in the game.

Sharks officials had been hoping it was just a strain but scan results on Monday confirmed the rupture which will see him undergo the fifth knee reconstruction of his career.

The news is a bitter blow for Stanley who’s five-year stint at the Dragons was plagued by injury.

Still only 23 years of age, it is not impossible to suggest he could make yet another comeback, but after five serious knee injuries one would consider it extremely unlikely.

Stanley is yet to comment on his future…

You really have to fell sorry for this bloke…ALL the best Kyle…

One was bad enough

5 ??

Bloody hell the bloke needs a change of luck

Good luck in the future Kyle

Shades of David Seage. Some dudes are just not built for footy.

That’s just unfortunate. It stops being luck at about 2 times- when it happens 5 times, the whole biokinematkic chain needs to be modified.

This would be shattering for this bloke… He must be a tough to go through all the rehab over and over again. At some stage, the mental edge would be lost?

It is also testiment to how talented he is… Not many clubs would continue to offer a contract to a kid who has 2-3 reco’s.

Best of luck Kid!

The guts this bloke has to keep having another go is amazing. I’ve done mine twice and I’m to scared to run now lol.

The hardest thing about it all is you have one leg that is still perfect and another that seems that it can’t take a break

I feel sorry for Kyle. A talented player but has had such bad luck with injuries. Recently married and has a young son. I wish him all the best for the future.

Time to give it away unfortunately. There comes a point where your health has to take priority.

Why doesn’t he just get the LARS procedure done? It’s obviously never going to improve for him via conventional means.

Covell was back in like 6-8 weeks with his.

Well said Willow. His own well-being should be a priority.
Time for kyle to move on to his new adventure.

From the people I have seen have the LARS procedure it seems players at the end of their careers using it , not players at the start of their careers

Don’t you think it would look likely as the only solution for a kid who has had five ACL tears?

I don’t think things are going to improve for him.

Harsh as.
Time to quit, I’d say.
Good luck with it all bud.
