NYC Team Announcement: Round 22

Tue 4th August, 04:30PM

Wests Tigers NYC Holden Cup Coach Brett Kimmorley has named his side to take on the Canberra Raiders in their Round 22 clash at GIO Stadium on Monday night.

Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 4:45pm as Wests Tigers look to keep their finals hopes alive by building on a strong last-start 34-18 victory over the Melbourne Storm.

In the only change to last week’s winning side, star forward JJ Felise will return from his knee injury— replacing Lamar Liolevave on the bench. Felise, who has averaged 20 tackles and 149 metres per game so far since making his NYC Holden Cup debut back in Round 1, will add further punch to Wests Tigers strong front-row rotation alongside Matthew Lodge and Junior Tatola, the latter of whom scored two tries last week.

See who Brett Kimmorley has named to take on the Raiders this week in the video above.

Mapesone was great last week

Such a bizarre side. So many junior superstars there but they aren’t putting it together. If they can click in the run home they can beat any other side on their day. Kimmorley must be very ordinary to have this team at risk of missing the 8.

Strong side, really hoping they click as they have the talent to go a long way in this competition if they get their act together.

Kimmorley won’t be around next year. Looks like the team isn’t keyed in.

Super strong forward pack, probably the best in the comp. Team still lacks a halfback. Martin isn’t consistent enough to carry the attack on his own week after week. Mapesone and Marshall-King are both pure ball-runners with no organisational or kicking ability whatsoever.

Backs are all pretty good too. Don’t know why they name Kharwin in the centres when he plays wing every week.

Still not sure about having half-back on the bench either. Mapesone played about 15 mins last week. While he scored a solo try on the siren i’m not sure if thats the best use of our bench.

Kimmorley is rubbish and has to go. Replace him with Head.

7th v 8th , big game we win we jump to 7th

Fire up WT’s

Wonder if Pifeleti will replace Tatola

That is an amazing pack…. Is McCormack injured??

Hala Masila replaced Tatola in the starting side…

Tigers up 10-6 after 20 minutes. Kharwhin has a double.

16-6 to the Tigers after Lodge just steamrolled through.

Raiders hit back. 16-12 to the Tigers after 25 minutes

Raiders hit the lead, 18-16 after 32.
