Koro v Richards

Interesting stats, considering how many people were complaining about how big a loss Koro was:

Tries scored in 2015:
Koroibete - 15
Richards - 17

The slowest player in our team scored more tries than him. And while both have problems in defence and under the high ball, generally speaking we haven’t missed too much.

Patty being equal third in the league (alongside Teddy and Rona) with 17 tries is a pretty good effort really. All he had to do for most of them was catch and dive over. If we replace him with someone who can do that and add a bit more x factor we could be in a very good position!

Koro v Nofo/Naiqama may be a different scenario though as they’re all of a similar quality.

If Koro was clever enough to play right side, He’d possibly still be here.
There was only a right side spot available and when he was over there he looked like he was playing backwards…. Terrible!!

Not that I care we let Koro go, but why wouldn’t they just shift Richards to the right? Surely he could adapt well enough. Saw him play right centre on game for Parra and he went well. I don’t think it would have been an issue for him.

Don’t disagree mate, Although he’s played for an eternity on the Left.
Also wonder why Pat wasn’t tried at centre (Had to be better than Lovett)
Also thought with a good second rower inside and an experienced winger outside, Koro could have been a damaging centre…
(History will never know)
The sooner we solve our Centre (Or lack there of) issue, The better…

what those stats dont say is how many tries Pat missed out that Koro would have scored.

Exactly… How many tries scored is at times irrelevant- it’s how many tries conceded and how many missed that counts more for wingers sometimes

This is a terrible thread/comparison.

Koro would have scored every single one of Richard’s tries with ease - for most of them, its just running a few meters and putting it down in the corner with no pressure.

Richards on the other hand, wouldn’t have scored half of Koro’s tries for Melbourne.
(If Cronk were a left side player, Koro would probably be the leading try scorer in the comp - Blake Green is more of a run it yourself type half and as such, Koro doesn’t get much ball for Melbourne close to the line, whereas all of Richard’s simple tries are others doing all the work for him).

Richards probably conceded more than Koro too, what is your point?

Unlikely

Richards defence this year was terrible.

Pat would have ran a combined 17ms for those 17 tries.

Koro is also a much better dummyhalf runner, hell judging off Pats goal kicking in the second half of the season Koro could probably do that better too

I very much doubt that.

Exactly. Koro is a so much better a player than Richards is at this point in their careers.

Col - come on mate. Richards was beyond ordinary this year. Yes he finished tries that were easy to finish but he didn’t finish a tonne of tries that Koro would have and he was caught out defensively plenty of times.

Your bias is so over the top it isn’t funny.

Patty can kick better than Koro and scored more tries.

For anyone who still is saying Koro could’ve and would’ve done better and scored more tries than Patty, well for you my friend(s), just look at who finished with more tries and points and then please sit back down !!

I’m truly amazed at times how we dont shy away from having a go at our own players despite the good they might do for us

Even if Pat sat in the grandstand he wouldn’t let in more tries than Koro.Lol
