*Official* Justin Hunt and Jordan Rankin sign

A couple more NSW Cup players to give us some depth. From the WT website.

Wests Tigers have today announced the signings of Justin Hunt and Jordan Rankin as the Club continues to strengthen its playing roster for the 2016 season.

Hunt has signed a one-year contract, while Rankin’s two-year deal secures him at the Club until the end of the 2017 season.

Hunt debuted for South Sydney in 2012 and has played a total of 21 NRL games across three clubs, including Parramatta and most recently St George Illawarra.

The 26-year-old played seven NRL games for the Dragons this year and can cover wing or fullback.

Rankin made his first grade debut in 2008 for the Gold Coast Titans, playing a total of 17 NRL matches at the Club before departing at the end of 2013 for a stint in Super League with Hull FC.

The 23-year-old can play a range of positions including fullback, five-eighth and halfback.

Head Coach Jason Taylor said both Rankin and Hunt will bolster the Club’s depth next year.

“As a Club we are continually looking at improving our depth and the overall quality of our NRL squad,” Taylor said. “Both Jordan and Justin have plenty of experience which means that the competition for positions in the NRL team will increase next year.

“I know that both players are coming to the Club for an opportunity and to fight hard for positions in the team – that’s what we desire.”

Both Hunt and Rankin will join the NRL squad when players return for pre-season training in November.

Happy with both, nice budget buys.

Like naiquama was last year.

Two very good depth signings.

Hunt has done well for the Dragons and can easily fill in for injury in a number of positions.

Rankin should be good too. I remembering him debuting at just 16 years of age.

I see it all as good news

Rubbish… Waste of money

Hunt is surely not 182cm tall, that is over 5 foot 11, hopefully they work out all right.

Idk if I’d call Hunt a depth signing. We already have one vacant wing position next yr, and he showed in the couple games he played this yr that he’s more than up to it.

They’d both be depth signings. A bit more experience, especially considering we’re losing a lot of player form our NSW Cup side too.

Rankin would be a swap for Drinkwater I guess, with Littlejohn more of replacement for Moltzen? Not sure which of the two are more organisational though to be honest.

Hopefully we have 1-2 more re-signings too, like Ava. But one gets the impression if we were leaving he’d already have signed and announced a contract elsewhere.

Anyone know how Rankin went in Super League? He had massive wraps on him as a halfback as a 16 yr old then disappeared.

I’ve watched Rankin play once this year and he played well

But comparing ESL and NRL can be deceiving

I thought he played wing/fullback at the Titans.

Nah, You are thinking of Jordan Atkins who played for the Titans.

I wonder if signing Hunt means Rowe is leaving?
