Decent read. The interesting points were about Taumata’s utility value.
From the article:
“He offers great utility value because he can play dummy half, lock, half, five-eighth, centre or fullback, and that’s the big attraction for us his utility value.”

I admit, I have only seen him a handful of times in first grade and a couple of times in QLD and NSW cup, but when I have seen him he has caused trouble for the opposition and doesn’t overplay his hand. He seems to be a QUALITY answer to the utility role.
Thoughts?

Agree 100%,
it baffles my why Fitzhenry would be the bench utility in front of him… -
The way the team is going, I just can’t find a starting spot for Taumata unless Ayshford moves onto the bench, but I wouldn’t like to see him moved as I think he is a solid centre in both defence and attack. It’s unfortunate for Taumata, but a good problem to have.

Best value is on the bench imo

Maybe the Fitz & the Fonz are lovers…

I can only assume that Sheens wants him to get his fitness up to a level where he can if needed be put on the first grade bench and called on to fill a position for more than say 30 mins because of say an unexpected injury to someone. At the moment if he filled that role there’s be doubts over weather he’d do it effectively for the time required. Therefore he’s better to get the mins up in state cup at the moment. Ideally though once he is fit and firing he’d be the ideal 14 for us.

Does anyone know how often if at all Tuamata trains with the full squad?

From NSWRL match previews
The Tigers are sweating on the fitness of five-eighth Arana Tamauta who has been forced to undergo an emergency MRI which will determine if he makes the plane this afternoon.

Emergency MRI does not sound good. Hope he’s ok

I don’t like to speculate but I think he is still having some ankle issues
