We have a winger ! His name is Simona !

  • If JAC departs which is on the cards, I would be making a slight reshuffle.
Chee Kam into the centres and Tim onto the wing.

This fixes multiple problems for us,

1.Saves us spending money on the cap
    2. Gives us speed on the wing
    3. Solidifies our defence out wide and still providing thrust and still some creativity

Simona has been a bit of a disappointment to me, doesn’t have the involvement that The Hair has, does what he has to and scores a blistering try now and again but for me does not have a high enough work rate.

Chee Kam hasn’t had much of a run in the top grade but has shown up on a few occasions and I reckon an extended opportunity in the centres could be the making of him as well as solving a problem for us out wide.

  • Does he live on the second floor?

    Crickets

    I’ll see myself out.

Where are the rep points when you need them? I laughed.

  • I don’t mind that backline. Doesn’t slove our Goalkicking issues though. Unless with go for that Roosters 2nd rower or someone similar.

  • sign his brother up

  • Simona is a better centre than he is a winger. Let’s stick with round pegs for round holes.

  • He’s our best centre, just needs more early ball. Mck is very close to a first grade call up from what I have observed.

Simonas defence is wasted in the wing he is our best defensive outside back. Chee Kam should be in the 17 in front of Lovett however, we should refocus attempts to keep JAC or another specialist winger with speed or a great goal kicking winger if there are any.

  • im happy with simona at centre if we have a equally good or better defensive centre replacing him

i think simona is better offensively (e.g. 2013) at wing. but we need his defence at centre which is solid

  • Banned

Simona can do more offensively on the wing. It’s easier for him to support players who break the line. However, as mentioned above, his defence is invaluable in an area we are disgustingly weak.

  • Papenhuyzen will be the goal kicking winger eventually.

  • I feel like Simona is heavily underutilised. He’s strong, he’s fast, he’s got a great fend. We should be seeing quality plays from him on a regular basis but for some reason he just hasn’t put it together since his debut season. Can’t tell if it’s him not getting as involved in plays as he should be or him not getting enough ball.

The other night there was one play where Simona could have dived on the ball and scored a try but didn’t. On the other hand, the ball barely came his way during the game, with Moses strongly preferring the right side. So he didn’t get many chances to showcase his skills.

On that note, I think switching him to the wing could work well for kick returns. But as other posters have said, defensively it’ll be too big of a problem to replace him at centre.

  • Simona would have a dozen try assists this year with a winger outside him. Makes the odd break but is usually well contained, both because he lacks support and also because Rankin doesn’t draw any heat.

Simona has a great late flick as he goes into the line. He’s stopped throwing them because Rankin can’t hold onto them.

Simona looked a much better centre with JAC in the side. Once we get that left wing sorted and Brooks gets a bit more imaginative, we’ll see a different Tim Simona.

Could always offensively play wing and shift to centre for defense, pending who the centre neighbour is.

  • As CZ said, Simona looks a hell of a lot better with JAC outside him. He’s probably been forced to hold onto the footy now that he’s got the plodder Rankin outside him.
Leave him where he is. We need his D.
