Newcastle's embarrassing promotional offer at Hunter Stadium

  • Newcastle are having the season from hell, and their marketing department is just about as dismal as their on-field performance if this tweet is anything to go by.

The Knights tweeted at their fans on Sunday to,” Get (their) cup of free water from the Fan Zone,” at their game at Hunter Stadium.

Feeling thirsty? Get your free cup of @HunterWater from the Fan Zone at today’s game at Hunter Stadium #HydrateFeelGreat
    10:04 PM - 27 Aug 2016

While it’s a pretty enticing deal, the Knights may want to offer something a little less accessible than drinking water - maybe a win?

Yep, it’s certainly been a tough year for the men in red and blue.

  • They could of at least offered a “Danny Wicks Deal” where you got water AND bread. Maybe a soap on a rope as a bonus?

Or the “Johns Special” where you get to take home 2 tools? Would be a fantastic plug for the local hardware joint.

  • They had a quiz at halftime and instead of ‘‘phone a friend’’ if you didnt know the answer and needed help, you could “ring Gids”.

  • their fans are legends… only 1 game all year yet they still turn out

The Joey Johns deal would presumably have meant turning up with no shirt on and drinking a lot of glasses of water while sweating copiously.

  • Should be pumping out the #ice instead,
Enough of it around here to go around.

    (Yuck)

  • Banned

    Joey Johns meal……Coke

I must say to get 15k to your last home game and the team is running dead set last shows how true supporters they are.

  • True, it does show how dedicated the Newcastle supporters are. It probably also reflects just as strongly on the fact that there is bugger-all else to do on a weekend in that town.
Free water is a massive pull.
