    Team List R26 - NYC
Wests Tigers NYC Holden Cup Coach Willie Peters has named his team to take on the Canberra Raiders for their Round 26 match this Sunday, September 4.

Kickoff for the match is at 11:45am AEST at Leichhardt Oval as Wests Tigers look to produce a strong performance heading into the Holden Cup finals next weekend.

After registering a 24-24 draw with the New Zealand Warriors at Mount Smart Stadium last Sunday, Peters welcomes back Tony Tali and Taniela Paseka this week from the Club’s Intrust Super Premiership side, with both moving into the starting side.

Canberra Raiders come into the match in eighth position with 30 competition points, two spots behind the sixth-placed Wests Tigers on 31 points. When they met earlier in the season, it was Wests Tigers who produced a dominant 50-16 win at GIO Stadium.

  • Add Liddle to this squad and I reckon they will roll Canberra comfortably.

The side can still finish Top 4 with victory …if the Storm knock over the Sharks and the Broncos beat the Chooks…

3 Draws and a couple of unexpected loses cost them a higher finish…

  • Inconsistency has cost them a higher finish. Great one week, very average the next. Far too often.

After a mixed start with a lot of dropped ball …Mata’afa crosses out wide …Ioelu misses the kick…WT 4-0…

McCormack crashes over off a nice short ball from Doolan…Ioelu converts WT 10 -0 …

  • Very good game by our forwards Sokobalava, Paseka, McCormick, Stone and Giles.
Roberts and Karwhin also played very well. We miss Liddle, but should win this if we play like in the first 30 minutes.
