Wests Tigers duo Tim Simona and Elijah Taylor have both been named in the Kiwis train-on squad for the upcoming Four Nations tournament in late October.
Taylor has played 10 Tests for New Zealand between 2011 and 2013 — including the 2011 Four Nations and 2013 Rugby League World Cup — but could be in line for a recall to the Test side after a superb mid-season switch from the Penrith Panthers to Wests Tigers.
Simona, who was born in Auckland, has played five Tests for Samoa between 2014 and 2016, could also make his Test debut for the Kiwis if selected for the final squad.
In all, 23 players have been named in the Kiwis train-on squad for the Four Nations, which will also be used for a one-off Test match against the Kangaroos in Perth next month.
A final squad of 24 will be named in the week after the NRL Grand Final on October 2.
