Egan seems to be a lot more verbal in the role than Buckets was

Yeah but how is his Pizza ordering - I mean lots on here were sure his quick dial to Dominoes was the best thing since sliced Pizza

I think he even had the app, cant beat online ordering!

Well now you bring that all up (and it never even came to me ) what are his driving skills and record like ??

It is sooooo much cheaper to get your pizzas pick up than delivered , he could save the club millions of $$$$$'s

Its all about productivity mate. He can set up the dining room while the pizzas are on the way. I have the same argument with the mrs regularly!

I don’t think the boys need silver service Greatsodensraven , dump the pizza on a bench and the overproof home brew beside it 😃

Wonder if the bases need to be gluten free ??

Warwick ready for Tigers’ task ahead

New Wests Tigers recruitment manager Dave Warwick isn’t shying away from the magnitude of the task ahead of the club in maintaining their young roster beyond the 2017 NRL Telstra Premiership season.

With the Tigers encompassing the Balmain and Western Suburbs districts, Warwick stressed the importance of tying up their best young juniors coming through the system.

Warwick’s arrival is an integral factor in the Tigers’ attempt to re-sign key quartet James Tedesco, Luke Brooks, Mitchell Moses and club captain Aaron Woods.

Warwick brings 12 seasons of NRL experience to the Tigers after previous tenures at St George Illawarra and the Sea Eagles.

“There’s a big catchment area there so we have to make sure we’re retaining and looking after our best young players,” Warwick told Wests Tigers TV.

“It’s vital we don’t lose those boys regardless if they’re from the Balmain district or the Western Suburbs. There’s a lot of work to be done but rest assure we’ll work our way through it.”

Warwick joins the Tigers after being approached by the club’s new general manager of football, Kelly Egan.

“I’m not a dinosaur yet. But I had a year at the Dragons just previously which was wonderful. Things have been left in a good place there as far as I’m concerned,” Warwick.

“Prior to that I had 11 seasons at the Manly Sea Eagles which involved recruitment through pathways, development and all those sort of components where we obviously had a lot of success.”

Warwick also shared his first impressions of the Tigers, having only started his new role on Monday.

“I can see, being an outsider previously, after one day [on the job] that there’s a good culture,” Warwick said.

"The players here are buying into what the head coach wants which is terrific. They’re all genuine type of boys who are training hard and that’s something I’m keen to be involved with.

“There’s plenty of upside.”

Hopefully he has a silver tongue, we’re going to need a convincing recruitment manager to paper over our currently glaring deficiencies on and off the field.

@Geo.:

Seems like it’s just another jobs for the boys appointment handpicked by Egan …just a different set of boys…Fresh eyes can be a good thing…Replacing Macca would mean working on Junior development something Manly have never been that good at…

Maybe a shift to ‘the chequebook’ approach is on the way…

Could be classified as job for the boys appointment but i took it as knowing someones ability and bringing them on board. I think he sounds good. Built Manly up and only had on season at St George so that cant be judged accurately even though in that time he secured all the young talent they wanted to keep.

Im not sure why there is so much negativity in this thread.

I agree KS, I think some experience at what works is invaluable for us right now!

Oh well, i guess they can have a line drawn through them for the next 5 years or so.

Mayer is still at Adelaide. He’s overseen them turn from champions to likely wooden spooners in a little over a year. Impressive.

Hahaha….of course he has. :roll

Is Warwick still on board?

Is Warwick still on board?

If he is you’d have to think he’s had a pretty good hand in creating the team with Ivan.
