    ISP Team Announcement: Round 1

    Tue 28th February, 03:50PM

Wests Tigers Intrust Super Premiership Coach Willie Peters has named his team for the Club’s Round 1 match against the Wyong Roos this Saturday afternoon.

Kickoff for the match is at 3:00pm AEDT from Morry Breen Oval at Wyong.

Peters’ squad is boosted by the inclusion of several key players including full-time players Watson Heleta, Jack Littlejohn, Justin Hunt, JJ Felise, Junior Tatola and Bayley Sironen.

Veteran hooker Matt Ballin will also make his return from injury in the team, coming off the interchange bench with Jeremy Marshall-King named to start the match at hooker.

Peters also announced that Nathan Milone and Matt Eisenhuth will co-captain the team in season 2017, saying that the recognition was a great reward for both players.

“We have Matt obviously representing the full-time group, and he came from the part-time squad in 2016, which is outstanding work on his behalf,” Peters said.

"Nathan is coming back from a long-term injury and really applied himself with the part-time squad in the off-season. He was in the full-time group last year so I think we have a good blend of the full-time and part-time in those positions, that way we can make both groups feel as though they are a part of it.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what the boys have to offer as far as leadership goes.”

See how Wests Tigers Intrust Super Premiership side will line up in Round 1 below!

  • Home game for me.Looking forward to seeing a host of fringe 1st grade go around.

  • Heleta, Suli, Tali, Yassmin, Sironen, Marsters, Marshall=King, Tatola and JJ. It is a smorgasboard of talent and our hope for the future.

  • Some good reporting there……Willie Peters is coaching at Manly but still able to pick the team…David Heath must be spewing

Where is that young backrower from Cronulla???
What are people’s opinion on Wesley Lolo? He looks the part (good size across) Is he just a career reserve grade player? Does he have what it takes to play 1st grade???

It was good of Heath to let Peters have one last crack at team selection 😃

  • It sucks that Suli isn’t playing FG but this is a strong team. Hopefully they will go far this season, the talent is there.

  • Sorry but I want to see Mapesone given a chance to start in the halves

I think he could be a goer at NRL level if he can prove he can make the step up in ISP

You know with the NRL’s new TLT rules that ISP initial lines up’s aren’t really worth the paper they are printed on any more don’t you…

    Expect Changes… 😉

  • A very strong side, but as Geo stated, who will actually take the field on the weekend is anyone’s guess

Need to lift for the trifecta,

  • 42-0 FT

Safe to say no one was knocking the door down for first grade.

  • Well that’s a bit of a worry for depth…
