Lawrence

  • Thought Lawrence played his best game in the backrow ever last night.
The angles, tough found half gaps who knows with good hands he might become a good hole runner like Hoffman.

  • He was strong, just like he was at the start of last year. Key for him is not falling away towards the back end of the year. He’s lost his pace but he still knows how to hit hole.

Your right, 2016 he started the season on fire but by mid season hit the wall, but he was not on his own. Both Sue and Lawrence with their massive charges and quick play the balls made the big difference last night

  • Last year his best game i thought was against manly in round 2 or 3,ran hard with no fear at the line and punched holes…after that performance i didnt see the same intensity all year,ĺast night he was very good hope he can continue this,if not his minutes should be looked at and shared with Aloiai

His metres after contact last night is what impressed me the most…every one of his hit ups were effective…

Played 80mins…the question is wether that performance can be maintained week in week out…Rowdy will need to be managed better this year…Aloiai didn’t get that many minutes last night and was used in the middle…would like to see him give Lawrence a spell…

  • I know there is no place for sentiment but if there was one player I would like to see have a massive year its Lawrence. He is a bloke who always puts the club first, quality person on and off the field and a guy who has not had much luck

  • Lawrence was a beast running around the ruck last night…. forget the metres, he seemed to always have his hand up following a quick PTB to punch in behind the ruck and really set the momentum for us rolling up the field. He was instrumental in almost every set we really got moving up the field against a souths team who struggled to get back the 10 once we got going.

For all the praise Woods gets, games like last night he owes both Ava and Lawrence for their work in isolating and condensing opposition pigs. Lawrence for his quick PTB, and Ava for almost always keeping a forward at marker, if not 2.

Hear! Hear! I don’t think any of us would begrudge him that. He is still a bit of a work in progress in the pack, but I’m so glad he has been able to resurrect his career by moving into the second row. It would’ve been a real travesty having to watch him struggle at centre, a shadow of his former self, for the rest of his playing days. He would’ve been a regular in Origin if not for bad injuries at such crucial times.
