JT...COACH

  • I would just like to say a big congratulations to Taylor for preparing the team for a superb first up effort last night,he is under a lot of pressure to get results this year and after recruiting a couple of players and having basically the same team as last year he has done very well to get them to perform as well as they did …selecting a rookie on the wing and placing the 9 jumper on the so called "journeyman"Mcillrick, this team may have now stepped up to the next level.who knows how far they will go,however a fair bit of credit must go to the coach, especially after all the flack he has copped re,Farah…
may the rest of the year be fruitful and for once it was great to get up and be proud to be a Tigers supporter without having so much negativity after a game but hope and enthusiasm…

  • I’m happy to congratulate him for this game, especially for dropping Rankin.

He has always been able to get the team up for the odd game. 25 weeks to go though before he can be judged properly.
Having said that, it was a solid start.

Totally agree Stryker,it was good to see the go forward and defence at a much better level than much of last year…I think the platform for more solid performances may have been laid…

  • Given the multiple distractions too, the attitude was top notch. They had to get around media dramas with Robbie, Lovett arrested and obviously the worst one, simona.

We’ve certainly matured as a club.

  • Yep coach and team own the wins and the losses. Well done to both.

Winning solves all our problems lol. But we must give credit where credit is due. I know i had 4 main issues with JT last year.

    1. Lovett in the team
    2. Rankin in the team
    3. No recognised dummy half then shuffling half the team to put rankin there.
    4. Right hand side defence

Its early days but already 3/4 of my JT criticisms have been sorted out. Now lets get this right hand side defence sorted out and JT may have a new fan lol.

  • It was a good win and he deserves credit.

One game doesn’t make a season and he will know that. He and the team need to do it week in week out.

  • Im a JT supporter but reality check time.

    Souths were terrible.

Tigers attitude was great but we still lapsed. That scoreline flattered them.

We have an embarrassed penrith an the bogyman side Canberra to battle against yet.

  • In watching the post match interview, I observed a closer bond between Woods and JT.

Was it because they won or are the playing group really warming to him?

Did anyone else notice that? Is just Woods personality?

Also quite aware that if we don’t perform that may change as pressure mounts.

Anyway noted that as a positive.

  • Team selections were refreshing & was great to see, in my opinion this is a major step forward for us.

Playing / picking blokes out of position has become the norm for us for to long. I hope JT has the luxury of sticking to his guns as the season continues.

Wins on the board is the key though & that enables a healthy team selection process

We won the first 2 games last year then lost 6 in a row. Too early for any calls just yet.

    Too early for this.
Come back at mid point of the season…

  • This whole ‘‘he needs six weeks’’ stuff is rubbish. If you think he’s only entitled to six weeks after getting us to the edge of the 8 last year than you might as well sack him now. I wonder if Barrett or Brown have similar ultimatums, or McGregor. He’ll be here at least 3/4’s of the season regardless. Keep getting results like Friday night and the conversation will be irrelevant.
