Lack of leadership and resilience

  • The last 2 weeks are carbon copy results. We were resilient when thing so didn’t goMoney our way (I.e. Dropped kickoff), but we hung in and we’re in the arm wrestle in the first 20 mins.

Then we lost the arm wrestle before half time and conceded points and were pretty behind at half time.

Come out, concede an early try and emotionally collapse. Bad defensive decisions, no ambition or structure in attack. Drop bad ball etc. Now we’ve told the opposition that we’ve given up on winning, and they turn it on and the score blows out.

Forget about individual performances and moments. Why did we mentally collapse so quickly AGAIN, when it would’ve been spoken about all week? The exact same way?

It’s an issue of attitude and leadership. Unsure which it is, but THATS the issue. 24-6 doesn’t have to be 46-6, but we let I think happen easily.

The team might have problems. But that’s issue #1 and it’s the entire organisations response lite to fix it.

  • I think it is also a fitness problem and have thought that over a few yrs now.we can play well at times , but time and time we get swamped by fitter teams. This has been the case for years,we very seldom outlast other teams at the end of the halves
Fitness and training must have at least a good part of the reasons for our consistent low standard of our games

  • It is a size issue.

We have been too small for years.

Too small in the backs and forwards.

When we play a team with power and skill we are royally screwed.

Against a more grinding team like Melbourne we will compete a bit better.

    Very predictable

We were gassed after 30 minutes last week. We consistently let tries in the last 10 minutes of eqch half and are always behind the 8 ball. Please get rid of Jt and his whole staff and start again. They talked up Idris’s fitness in the off season lol, whoever is in charge of fitness has no idea.

We have beaten Souths and Bulldogs who are much bigger than us. The issue is when a team get tough in the middle we open up like a tin of sardines after roughly 30 minutes. We will still win the odd game but things are starting to head further downhill as more teams improve and we dont.

  • They don’t hate loosing enough.

  • St George have shown with a good pack you can win games with a average backline and you can win games with a average spine. Mind you we have a bog average pack but our backs are probably worse

Apart from that everything is rosy haha.

STGI have recruited heavily in the forwards last few years Thompson, Frizell, packer, Ah Mau, Masoe, McInness, Sims, Vaughan and Debellin came through the ranks.

Who have we signed in that period ET, Aloai, Ballin, McIlwrick. We are the most mis managed team in the NRL?
