If Panthers heavily subsidised the deal and release Laurie early I’m onboard with taking Mansour. He won’t hurt our depth. There is bound to be injuries or players dropped for under-performance. It also sets our roster and with the leftover money in the bank we can front end some contracts giving us an amazing advantage coming into 2022, especially when more money becomes available.

With the abundance of young talented players, Panthers had no choice but to start shedding older players. WT need to be careful which of them are a good fit. Mansour may be an inspirational guy to have around the joint but atm we need AJ or Crichton more imo.

      Mansour is a proven international.

      5 years ago maybe.

It’s like signing Tim Grant and saying he’s a proven origin player

Not really mansour had a good year this year

      I agree, it’s not like he’s garbage.

Is he really an upgrade on any of our options though? Apart from the experience he’d bring, I don’t think he is.

That, and the fact we’d be signing him on a 3 year deal.

I’m not sold on AJ like the rest of you are and Crichton is a fantasy signing. In contrast Laurie is a natural FB and not a makeshift one and Mansour is a proven international.

Benji is also a proven international. Why should we not sign younger faster , more enthused players looking to establish their career? A player like Laurie is a great signing, there should be more Laurie’s signed. Crichton is one of those. He can play FB while we wait for Laurie and our centres to sort themselves out?

If it meant getting Laurie a year earlier I would take Marshall back

That’s a bit like saying to your nurse… I’m gonna need a lolly if you give me that medicine 😂

Zero tackle reckon Mbye could be on the outer without a guaranteed spot next year. Please be true!!!

Mbye is actually critical for 2021 now. Provides depth in fullback and 5/8 which we now need. If Walters leaves he’s even more critical.

This will make a change because up until now, everyone has been critical of Mbye.

Well sure also am one of the critics, he was shocking in 2020 and also not captain material. At times he really did not look like he wanted to be there especially at half time with Madge’s sprays about the teams performance.
However the best game he had all season was at fullback.

He is on big coin (Highest Paid Player) was originally Signed as a fullback that is why he is on the $. Let’s hope he performs and shows us that last year was a one off, Cheers.

The reason Penrith want Mansour gone is so they can retain Critchdon and other players.re :aji Fantasy signing, are you hiding under a rock?Laurie looks great butwe don:t know as yet if he is a FB he has played a min of games in 1st gde. Mansour is past it.

So easy decision why help Panthers retain Crithdon by freeing up some cap space? Mansour was asking for a 3 year deal, current club state he is now a reserve grader, Pass on Signing as we have a few younger players wanting to play 1st grade.

The three years would be a sticking point. I don’t know if there is a way to sign him to a shorter deal. Right now, I think he’s a better winger than Talau or AJ but I’m not supporting signing him. I’m just saying if we did then at least he’s a decent winger. We’ve bought plenty of guys who were not first graders.

Buying mansour helps Penrith keep Critchdon, can;t you guys see that ?

Do you think we are a realistic chance of signing him? We offered more money for LM and JAC than any other club could and came up empty. I can’t see anything changing until we start to have some success on the field.

Mitchell and JAC are part of the click at souths. We were one of 8 clubs after both. They have no bearing on future signings.Everyone is sayin tiger can;t sign marquee players, that is rubbish, nobody mentions all the other clubs bidding and losing.I think we were blessed,LM trains on Maccas ,and money offered to JAC was stupid.

He seems a good bloke too.

I think madge doesn’t mind a veteran winger and he knows how to pick them (lote).

I think beyond the preconceived opinions of him on here you will find he has more upside than AJ.

More upside than AJ? Seriously, how?

AJ had like 4 or 5 games while showed improvement hasn’t totally proven himself.

Mansour has established himself played finals and still got it.

                    Pretty clear I thought

Not much upside to a 30 year old outside back. lots of upside to a 20 year old who’s only played a handful of games.

Two players with most expectations are Momo and AJ. Momo will be captain next year if he stays healthy.

I’d like to know how you think a guy who struggles just to get his big toe into a top 17 side would then be entitled in your mind to get the gig as a NRL Captain…

I think it’s obvious his only ever used as last resort back up option in other words his a stop gap player.

Tamou will be captain the next 2 years.

If the team performs to expectations and make finals i would not be surprised if they extend his contract for an additional year. Hear he also is coming back early to Training that’s a big plus on his attitude to WT and getting to know the players.

I have no idea if we are chasing Crichton. I do suspect having Tamou at our club puts us in a good position if he truly wants to leave the Panthers. I do know Crichton is good at setting up the player outside of him. That means that player must have genuine pace to make full use of his skills.

Momo sounds like the forgotten player.
He held a starting spot with the storm and they were premiers, he would have learned a lot under Bellamy.
He should be in the side, especially 1st game with AD suspended might even fill in at 5/8???
Unsure if Jimmy the Jet will be ready by the start of the season when he is only training a few days a week currently, but good to have back up options around centres as we were light there last season.

As clear as a mirror smeared with Vaseline.

Russ …why are you smearing mirrors with Vasoline for

Each to their own, I’d just hate to see either Talau or AJ end up at another club and kill it while we have a 70 year old Mansour hogging the wing. Our future is our youth
