James Tedesco Concussion

The biggest problem with the NRL’s concussion rule imo is that if a player fails the concussion test (in this case teddy) because he got hit in the head from a high tackle from the opposition, he can’t come back onto the field, and the team are down a sub. Yet the player that hit him on the head, which is foul play, can stay on the field. After the opposition have defused the penalty they conceded, they’re actually advantaged by the whole play.
If anyone has other views I would love to here them.

No it’s a bad go….you would’ve thought prior had to have come off after Ava steamrolled him but he didn’t…

Heard when he came to he was asking for uncle Nic to slap some suntan lotion on him at Bondi beach

Would have been the perfect time to throw a contract right in front of his face

Tedesco: Wait, aren’t I going to the Roosters?
WT’s: What, don’t be silly Teddy, you are a Tiger for life. Now sign this and make it official please.

Then when he comes to and asks if he signed a contract, tell him he was dreaming.

Then when the COP is finished announce it. When he asks what’s going on, he thought he was dreaming, just say ‘‘oh yeah, the thing about that is……’’ and run

Full proof.

I dont even understand how that tackle was even enough to cause concussion , let alone a game ending one .

An elbow to the head not enough to cause concussion?

I doubt Tedesco will be taking up a Boxing career anytime soon .

I was watching at the club so not really closely…. Looked like a bit of an innocuous slap to me
Couldn’t believe it when he didn’t return 2nd half

Edit; just saw it on sports Sunday. An inner elbow if it was an elbow, Maloney cuffed him

Surprised he didn’t come back…
He looked fine after a minute.

I was thinking about this today - Two solutions, both based on both team doctors agreeing there is a concussion.

1/ Player comes off due to foul play, the other team is reduced by one interchange.

2/ The bench is extended by two players. One back one forward. The two extra players can only be used if the concussion occurs due to foul play.

As it is now, it is in a teams best interest to illegally attack the head of a player. You might give the penalty but you are going to get an advantage in the last 20 mins or so when fatigue starts to be a real factor.

Teds a beast, can’t question his commitment.

Everytime we play the sharks he goes off concussed, something has got to give.

I agreed but not sure what the answer is though.

The system isn’t perfect but you never will have perfection with things like this. NRL doctors working with club doctors would help and an extra reserve who only comes on for foul play makes sense would be better if we had a reserve grade so that you could use players who played in that game as the extra players

Something has to change, the rule is so lopsided toward the offending team it’s wide open for abuse. It’s still amazes me that you can throw a punch and miss the target and receive ten minutes off and yet you can take out a player with nothing more than a penalty given leaving your opposition the entire game a man down. It’s a ridiculous situation. I think if the player can t come back then the offender has to go off as well.

Surely the sharks will be expecting a fine for not even taking prior off for a test…? The bloke fell like he was out cold!
