Jacob Liddle

  • I thinkt this was his best game for us so far.

Unfortunately, doesn’t offer the same as MM in defense but really made some strong one on one tackles in the line. Has great speed in attack and defense with the cover tackles esp and crisp service out of dummy half.

Hopefully he can put on some size but so far so good. Happy with his progression.

  • Still a ways off and not yet ready for FG. Glad we have McIlwrick to hold the spot until then.

Your first sentence is half right half wrong, hes a developing player…hes learning his trade

  • He makes some great tackles. He doesn’t hit like McIlwrick but he doesn’t have too. I think he is a very good player.

  • Liddle has natural strength as a running player. Right now he is an average to below average hooker for NRL but we haven’t been able to play to his strengths. He is very promising but at this stage in his career to shine he needs to be playing off a pack that gets momentum and wins the ruck. Considering nothing has gone the way that makes him advantageous he has done well not to fall off badly. I am a fan and think he should be a huge improver next year.

  • Work in progress but a definite keeper.

  • He played 60 minutes unchanged from memory? I think he’ll be starting hooker fairly soon, and may well be playing the full 80 by the end of the season.

  • Is he arrogant of what ??
That pass from him that Cheem Kam dropped, he didnt even bother acknowledging anything
Arrogantly walked off in another direction
Saw him more than once display the same body language

I know the club, coach and CEO are trying to change the culture. Lets hope im wrong about my assessment today

On his footballing, no question he can play

  • Still learning his way but he looks the goods as a 9 to me.

It’s the right kind of arrogance. He is unflappable and believes in himself. He has no emotion on the field. The C Smith comparisons are all about his character. He reminds people of Smith because of his demeanour not his play. He plays more like Issac Luke.

Please, comparison with Smith or Luke are way off the mark. He is not first grade material at this stage.

  • He will look at lot better as a dummy half if he is surrounded by a pack that is rolling forward and getting quick play the balls. His defence is solid, is a good tackler, but is not yet skilled in the dark art of wrestling.

Tackles low & brings blokes to ground.

  • Having two hookers for the amount of time Liddle played today is ludicrous. Play one of them for 80 or at least give them 40 each. Playing MM for 20 is a complete waste of a reserve…which was made worse by losing Lawrence early.

Comparisons don’t have to equate to equality. He has shades of both.

isn’t it the hooker’s job to get the forwards on the front foot as well? it all goes hand in hand tbh… the whole team will function better if everyone does their job. a crisp pass from DH to a fast running forward will always be better than a loopy pass to a flat footed forward.

it all starts from the PTB IMO
