Grant cops ban for dangerous throw

Wests Tigers prop Tim Grant has entered a plea of no contest to a grade one dangerous throw and will miss this week’s clash with the Gold Coast Titans.

Grant could have avoided suspension with an early guilty plea but the no contest plea means he will have no carryover points to his name after serving a suspension this week.

Meanwhile Dragons forward Jack de Belin has until midday Tuesday to enter a plea to his dangerous contact charge, for which he is facing a one-match ban.

  • Must have a niggle

  • Tatola might get a run if Woods doesn’t back up.

Well thats good news. One less numpty in the team this week.

He came off with a hamstring issue from memory, so this does seem a convenient ban.

  • we should give young jordan grant a go to see if he can handle 1st grade.he is a big body and has a good engine.

Grant was average in ISP last game …

  • I wonder how many no contest pleas there are per year, didn’t even know players ever did this.

  • Ok Sauaso time to step up. You can be a leader. I know you can. It’s now we need you. You’re going to be here next year. Step up now. Put some big hits on. Lower your body in the hit up. Get that leg drive gong. I’ve seen you do it. Now is your time.

  • One less plodder in the side. If only Lovett was suspended as well, we might have had a chance.

So was Grant and Lovett and Sue……

  • Means props will be Woods, Ava, Eisenhuth, then the mystery prop. Could be Sue, but he should really be dropped. Needs a kick up the backside. Felise i’d drop back down to ISP as only playing 20 mins isn’t overly helpful for him. I’d give Tatola a crack this time, salary cap permitting.

  • I thought Felise was one of the better forwards on Saturday, he actually bends the line.

  • Felise and Eisenhuth on the bench with Liddle and MCK. Prefer to have Lovett in ISP and Sue on the bench but while both Lawrence and Aloiai are injured (does anybody have an update on them???) we have few real options. Marsters in the centres but seriously the outside backs need to defend with a bit more determination than they did against the Sharks. Everytime the sharks spun the ball they opened us up - there was no commitment in D at all out wide.
I noticed that the game plan seemed to be to get our big backs to take most of the early hit-ups in each set so we were very predictable running one out with Nofa, MWZ, Suli, etc taking turns. Maybe this wore those guys out a bit because most of the pack weren’t capable of sharing the load.
