  • Wouldn’t be surprised if Ivan the terrible picks JLJ at 9 and MM to the bench. Probably start Sue at 12. Might take Manly 13+

  • In my view Cleary is not a coach that doesn’t think things through. For his own reasons he is prepared to carry JLJ on the bench and not play him. Why would that be??
Possibly it’s doubt in MM to play 80, or perhaps Brooks is not 100% fit, I am sure ET is carrying a rib injury so maybe Cleary isn’t confident that he has a backup DH. He seems more confident that he’ll get big minutes out of Woods, Eisenhuth, Twal and even Lawrence that he is prepared to only run 3 forwards on the bench. Maybe Aloiai can’t play those sort of minutes at the moment and that is why he is not getting a run?
I reckon if we are going to win any of our last 4 games he has to run with 4 forwards on the bench and if he must have a utility of sorts then include MCK.

  • Leave Kev and Sue out and we are heading in the right direction

  • Sue has been having a go of late. Not sure if Ivan has told him to lift his game or the Hooth and Twal coming in and running rings around him has anything to do with but he’s had a dig in limited minutes.

Taylor looks like he is carrying an injury so I would give him a week’s rest and let Chee-Kam start in second row.

Ava is moving to the TigerSharks next year so happy for him to play State Cup.

Give JJ Felise another go if Salary cap allows it.

I think he’s always brought more to the side when he comes off the bench. Doesn’t have the motor to play 80, but let him rip in off the bench for 30 minutes and he tends to have good impact.

… and have better mobility in defence - I reckon that lets him down when playing bigger minutes.

  • Think Ivan is going to pick the same 17
