It’s been labeled the toughest draw in the comp, partly due to the opening 5 rounds where every game is against top 4 sides from last season including the Storm twice. Of the opening 14 rounds, 11 of those are against top eight sides from 2017.
I suppose the silver lining is that opposition teams can be a bit rusty and form can waver at the start of the season. If the Tigers fitness has improved under Ivan and Ronny then we’ll give ourselves every chance to jag some victories through hard work, a better orchestrated defense and a good dose of enthusiasm.
Then we might have a favorable situation during the Origin period considering we are unlikely to have as much disruption as some other sides with players on Origin duty and the effects of injury and fatigue.
The stretch at the back end of the season appears much more favorable, from Round 15 we play 10 games with 9 of those against sides that were in the bottom eight in 2017.

It is a brutal start to the year for the club and bookies will have us 0-5 to start the season. If we can jag 2 wins from the first 5 I would look at that as a big positive. Hopefully teams underestimate us, which I am sure they will.
Cant remember where I saw it but apparently Roosters are playing 2017 top 8 teams something like 9 times during the season…
