Maguire hoses down talk of Bankwest Stadium hoodoo building

Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire has dismissed talk of a potential hoodoo building at Bankwest Stadium as the side prepares to host South Sydney on Thursday night.
The squad trained at the venue on Wednesday in a first for the club since announcing their intentions to use the facilities last year in conjunction with home grounds Leichhardt Oval and Campbelltown Stadium.
The Tigers were denied the chance to train at the Parramatta venue ahead of their 28-0 loss to the Raiders in round 13 given concerns around the surface quality.
Wests Tigers haven’t had the best of starts at the venue, having also been thrashed 51-6 by the Eels on Easter Monday.
“If we score points we’ll flip that around and stop it. It’s no different to any ground,” Maguire said.
"We get to play at this ground often so we want to make sure we turn up and play at our best.
"We play a number of games here now and we have to build on that. It’s one of the world’s best grounds. There’s no reason why you can’t turn up here and not play some good footy.
“It’s got to happen sooner or later and we plan to make it tomorrow.”

The club had six players take the field over the representative round and Maguire wanted them to help the side go to another level in the race to the Telstra Premiership finals.
Maguire said Wests Tigers skipper Moses Mbye is expected to play despite a health scare last week that saw him overcome a serious allergic reaction in Queensland camp.
“He’s no worries at all,” Maguire said.
"I wasn’t scared, he rang me and was actually laughing about it. He couldn’t quite believed it happened. Moey’s fine and they wouldn’t have let him play the other night if he wasn’t.
"He’ll be ready to go. The boys have had a good week coming back from their duties at international or State of Origin level.
“They’re all healthy and have come back from representative duties ready to go. We’ve shown plenty of good signs, we’ve just got to make sure we do it for 80 minutes.”
