It was a positive weekend of results for Wests Tigers in Round 15 as the club’s NRL, Jersey Flegg and Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership side all secured last-minute wins.

A Michael Chee Kam try on Thursday night proved to be a match winner for Michael Maguire’s side against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, with back-to-back wins now placing the NRL side on the edge of the top eight ahead of this week’s game.

After a mid-season resurgence, Wests Tigers senior women’s side continued their good form on Sunday with an upset 18-10 win over the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Having now won three straight games to sit in fifth position, Wests Tigers can now secure a finals berth for the first time with a win over the Bulldogs this weekend.

The club’s Canterbury Cup boys battled bravely against a strong Rabbitohs side but were unable to get there in the end, with the visitors running out 34-16 winners.

However, the club’s Jersey Flegg side would ensure it would finish as a positive weekend overall with a strong return to form as they fought back from a half-time deficit to emerge with a 38-24 win over the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Wests Tigers will return home to Bankwest Stadium on Friday to face the Sydney Roosters in a blockbuster clash before the the Canterbury Cup and Harvey Norman Women’s teams feature at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The club’s Jersey Flegg team have the bye.
