Post Benji era is approaching. I think we will struggle without him imo, but how do you see our halves pairing in the future.

We have a few options, whether its looking from within or buying someone. Brimson is one that has been spoken about as has Moylan.

We have Brooks, Talau, Madden, Walters and Burey within out club (apologies if ive missed some)

Do we let Brooks go and take a different path? or do we persist with him? I see him as a 5/8. Although I don’t think he is a lethal one. Would just be solid.

What are your thoughts on our future halves pairing…

              Madge @TheDaBoss global:last_edited_by,

@TheDaBoss Madden and Brooks actually have very different styles. Madden is more of a traditional halfback, running game isn’t as fluent, but is a good communicator on the pitch with a very good kicking game. He reminds me a lot like Chad Townsend, very similar players.

My bad forgot about Walters, I feel as though his future lies at 9.

Brooks is our 7 and classiest player. Shouldn’t even be in the thought process of changing him. First picked!

@Tiger_Steve True, who do you think would partner him in the future?

I don’t know enough about our juniors @Madge . Some are saying Talau. What I would say is that Brooks is best when he runs and plays heads up footy. I’d like someone who organises to be at 6.

                      TIGER global:last_edited_by,

Brooks has been good the last two seasons but…

I said it from the start, we will do nothing as long as Brooks is our no7
and even though he’s improved a lot (especially his defence) and kicking game but I’ll stand by my comment.

The amount of times I’ve seen him hit the short flat runner when if he’d gone out the back we have them shot is many, a team like ours can’t afford to make these types of bad decisions over and over.
His pet play is hitting that short runner even if it means sending them into a dead end under pressure to take the pass and secure the ball for impact.

It will be interesting to see how Brooks goes with Farah gone could add whole new dimension to our team.I think Madge has a plan
to use a lot of junior players this year and with our salary cap almost sorted we may have to wait until 2021 to finish higher than 9th

Let’s see how Madden and Talau come along and hopefully one of them slots in next to Brooks who is signed for the next 4 years so let’s get behind him. Mbye is a possible back up as well

That side won’t be much good until we get Brandon Smith in to play hooker

2021 - I think Brooks and Moylan. Add another powerful forward and hopefully a fit Liddle and you start looking like a competitive finals bound side. I can’t believe people want to get rid of Brooks. He had a good season and is one of few in our squad who actually can penetrate the opposition’s defence.

I would give Talau a run at 6, that is his spot, who knows him and Brooks could work, we need to try though
