After remembering a situation which occurred in my life I have done a complete turnaround on my thinking with regards to Johnston’s imminent signing. Many years ago I applied for a professional position where there were quite a number of applicants. The boss of the section where the job was located didn’t attend the interview which was conducted by his superior. Anyway I got the job and on my first day I met the section boss whose first words to me were “If it was me I wouldn’t have selected you”. I was taken back back by his words and did not respond. Instead I felt this great motivation to prove him wrong. I worked hard and was very happy in this job which I carried out for almost 10 years.
The point I am making is, do not under estimate the talents of Johnston as a future Wests Tigers fullback. Unlike Mitchell, who is a very impetuous and at this stage unstable person, Johnston seems to a quiet laid back fellow who puts his mind to his work as well as consistently putting his body on the line, If, as I am sure, he has the will to succeed he will at 24 years of age serve Wests Tigers very well in the future.

For 2020 about $150k After Souths comp runs out $420k per season. 3 years 1 mil to the tigers roughly was the deal. But worth about 1.2 to AJ
Hasn’t been signed yet but that was the offer tabled yesterday.
If I remember correctly your a stats man smoking gun. How does aj stack up compared to jac or 1 of our current wingers. Just curious

So he has accepted an release with Souths but a deal at a new club hasn’t been brokered yet, yet that club that has released him has agreed to kick in money for his next deal…
You can’t sign a deal with one club for the same year your contracted to another. Once the release is cleared from nrl and the new contract is signed registered Then it becomes all offical. I swear some of you have a 3rd grade education on here
… and some have a high opinion of themselves despite being often wrong… Keep insulting people champ… You’ll go fast… I don’t mind Alex Johnson he will add to our squad if he joins us

This signing if happens certainly will not have the desired effect the club would want . Most have had enough of average signings on ridiculous amounts of money . The types making these Decisions with in the club really need to have a good look at themselves!
