Wests Tigers will be without Alex Twal, Robert Jennings and Zane Musgrove for an extended period of time after the trio picked up injuries in last week’s win over the North Queensland Cowboys.

After going off injured in the first half, Twal’s knee injury will see him miss approximately four weeks while Jennings (hamstring) and Musgrove (foot) are both looking at longer stints on the the sideline. Jennings suffered a high-grade tendon injury and will miss an extended period of time while Musgrove will undergo surgery for a lis franc injury — ruling him out for 10-12 weeks.

There is positive news, however, for Jacob Liddle as he continues his recovery from a long-term knee injury. After suffering the injury in August last year, Liddle will transition in to full team training over the next few weeks before resuming contact training after that. He is aiming to be fit for selection around Round 14-15.

Tommy Talau is also available for selection this week after missing Round 6 with a hamstring strain. He will start on the left wing for Sunday’s clash against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

WESTS TIGERS INJURY REPORT
Alex Twal (knee) — Round 10-11

Jacob Liddle (knee) — Round 14-15

Zane Musgrove (foot) — Round 16-18

Robert Jennings (hamstring) — Indefinite

Sigh. Rest well boys.

Good news on Twal could’ve been worse, gutted for Musgrove. 10-12 weeks is a long time, lucky he’s still young for a prop

Lucky we didn’t loan out Huth

I had a bad feeling that it would be a lis franc for Musgrove. That is terrible news for him, 10-12 weeks could be optomistic, id be surpirsed to see him on the field this season. Lucky it’s not so bad for Twal. Jennings meh.

Packer will be back and available next week

We have been fairly lucky with injuries of late hope this is the worst of it bad news on Musgrove was starting to warm into his work…

Dammmmm…that is brutal re Musgrove.

We finally had some legit size and grunt.

Wouldn’t be surprised if packer is back. We need his size and (if used correctly) his aggression.

With Twal out this leaves the door open for someone to step up … reading heaps about younger forwards time to see what is available :

Happy that Twal isn’t out for too long, gutted about Musgrove though

Wonderful news. Will take a lot of effort to surpass his last performance. One for the ages.

Can I say, I am not optimistic about his potential return. (Edit: Packer’s return)

What’s the saying, he had one job…

Last game a bit of dog poo would have performed better

Damn Musgrove. Was more concerned for Twal.

Packer is not in the team to be a grand master tactician, he is there to be violent presence that deters people from running straight and hard. From what I saw two weeks ago there was nothing to suggest that he is adverse to hurting people.
