      Afternoon all,

Just wondering if any/many here get their meat delivered from farms directly and where they get it from?

Tired of getting meat from woolies that is sub-par, and tired of paying local butchers exorbitant amounts…

I’m really warming to the idea of getting it straight from the farmers and cutting out the middlemen.

      Cheers

Mate we have been using Farmgate to Plate for a few months now, have found the quality to be second to none. The thick cut beef eye fillet steaks are mouthwatering. https://farmgatetoplate.net.au/

          Thanks Mate,

Do you just pick and choose or do you buy a pack?

Just pick and choose so far. We have three small kids and not a lot of freezer space. But buying the basics has worked out to about $150ish for 3 weeks worth of meat.

Good lord what do you get for 150?

I looked at their packs and it was more than that for what seemed like the basics, but I also don’t need orange juice and eggs to go with it

These guys also do butchery course. A couple of other butchers in the inner west that are specialty (wrights) and also one in Liverpool that’s great but I don’t know the name of that one. They own a farm and a smokehouse

A mate of mine is into specialty cuts straight from the source .
I was interested until he told me the price
Like $700 for 1/4 of a cow or something like that …
Then you need to freeze a bulk amount .

Yeah the bulk part of it is a bit daunting if you’re buying a whole/half animal. You’d need some sort of chest freezer or to throw in with family or friends. It just comes down to having the room.

Mince, chicken, snags, few steaks. Some of the products are quite expensive. But we don’t need to buy a lot.

Married to a vegetarian so the only thing from the farm to the plate comes from the ground… We have two BBQ’s one for the meat eaters and one for the carrot eaters
