Aloiai Injury?

Apologies if there is already a thread for this. Couldn’t find one.

Have we got confirmation from the club whether or not it’s an ACL?

I don’t mean to whinge and moan (but I will), Sharks have confirmed Johnson’s injury as have Manly for Trbojevic’s injury, but we don’t seem to hear anything and have to go off his insta.

When we look so unprofessional on the field, stuff like this doesn’t make us look much better.

The club not yet. But Josh said he has not torn his ACL

I hope that’s right. I think the result is really critical to our success next year. The main reason we purchased Tamou was to have someone to support Aloiai. If Aloiai is ruled out for the year then it pretty much puts us back to having 1 prop only leading the way.

Aloai and Mikaele i assume

He’d likely need scans and a review by a specialist. No point guessing what the injury is, best to wait until it’s confirmed. Some injuries are easier for physios to deduce. A monday announcement is fine.

Club injury report

Wests Tigers forward Josh Aloiai has been cleared of an ACL injury after he was taken off injured against the Melbourne Storm in Round 19.

There were initial fears that the powerful prop had sustained a serious knee injury, but scans the following day cleared him of an ACL tear.

Scans have instead revealed cartilage damage that will be further assessed by a specialist before the club plans the best intervention.

David Nofoaluma has also been cleared of any serious injury suffered in the loss, while Sam McIntyre has commenced the standard concussion rehabilitation protocols after failing his head injury assessment on the night.

In other injury news, co-captain Moses Mbye has successfully undergone a knee arthroscope and has begun his recovery program, while Billy Walters is on track to begin the next stage of his rehabilitation in the coming week and transition out of a knee brace.

Great news. Looking forward to seeing him and Tamou up front together next year.

Musgrove and Stefano off the bench and we’re looking a lot better than this year.

Be interesting to see if Nofo plays this week, he could barely walk at the end of the game so I suspect he’s copped a nasty cork on the hip or something similar.

He’ll want to lock up his top try scorer spot. He normally bags against eels too.

Well that’s interesting about Mbye going under the knife…

Great News for Josh…

Nothing a clean out won’t fix, get it done now and be right to go for pre-season training.

That is fantastic news as I agree it would have been a massive loss for 2021 if he had done the ACL. He is a tremendous young man off the field as well and I would be happy for him to be Captain such is the character of the man.
See you in 2021 Josh

Must of been what was holding Mbye back!
