As has become tradition, following on from the 2019 & the 2020 threads, here is the 2021 thread for recruitment and retention. Given the late finish to the year and the fact that the NRL have not established next years cap amount yet, obviously we have a potentially great deal of movement in the market to happen yet but I’ll add to it as we go.

Cheers, updated.
I thought he had signed somewhere I couldn’t remember where though.

Of those off contract at the tail end of 2021, These are the only 3 I really hope we keep

It’s a bit disheartening knowing we have only 2 spots to fill with McIntyre and Seyfarth (ugh) reportedly re-signing. We need one of the last 2 spots filled by a big name.
-
It is what it is I guess.

2021 is gonna be another big year of players contracts ending

I can see a big turnover at the end of 2021, similar to the end of 2017. We have only 11 players signed beyond ‘21, and out of all the unsigned players, imo I’d only be offering contacts to 6 of them at most. Which means we’d be bringing in lots of new blood for 2022.

Possibly a new team coming in too.
-
Only big loss is Harry. Tamou and Stefano are upgrades. Our mid season signings in AJ and Blore are upgrades too
It’s still an average looking squad but we have cleared out a part of the dead wood and replaced them with young talent so not bad.
Filling those last two spots with hopefully one big name signing and another talented rookie would be a huge win for us

With the salary cap still not sorted I doubt any teams fill their 30 until it’s known. Even being at 29 is a risk.

Thanks Bogan

would like to see us tie up Nofoaluma, Aloiai, Blore, Liddle (barring injury) and Musgrove before the season gets up and running. the rest will either have to perform or make their way to the exits. have always had high hopes for Tommy Mikaele but this season is make or break.
