Gibbs named without test

BRYCE Gibbs will not fully test his fractured kneecap until Friday, despite being named yesterday to return for the Wests Tigers.
Gibbs has not been sighted since he broke down during the round 23 clash with Penrith, and said he would have a better idea of his fitness on the eve of the Roosters blockbuster at the SFS.
After being named with Liam Fulton and Wade McKinnon to return for the Tigers, Gibbs said at training: "I still haven’t run on it yet, and probably won’t until Friday. It’s still a bit too early to know, but I’m hoping I’ll play.
“The doc first told me I’d be back in three to four weeks, and I thought he was geeing me up because it usually takes six to eight weeks for the bone to heal. This week will be my fourth week.”
Gibbs said he had only averaged 50 minutes all season and would be more than fit enough for the Roosters showdown.
As for Fulton who, with Gibbs, was part of the Tigers 2005 premiership outfit, he tested his calf out on Monday and said he felt no ill effects.
The backrower has missed the past four matches.
