  • Vale Bob Hawke i certainly didnt agree with everything he did but he certainly moved our country forwards

  • “Any boss who sacks anyone for not turning up today is a bum!”

  • Great man.

  • Superb win for Australia last night. Far right didnt gain, even losing seats and Labor didnt claim power to implement their socialist agenda of uncosted craziness. Pretty much a perfect result for the nation.

  • The $7.50 on offer for a coalition government weren’t bad either. They were almost Trump like.

  • Yeah very juicy odds.
The whole night did have an air of Trumps victory didnt it. Billary looked shell shocked

  • Terrible day for the future of our country. When i die the world will be in far worse shape than when i was born you can keep on ignoring climate change as much you want but when it needs to be addressed it will cost far more than it would now.
Very shortsighted we are leaving even bigger problems by not acting now.
Scummo and his party have no idea

  • Disappointed with the result but that’s democracy. Shows how unelectable Shorten was when Abbott could get a gig over him.

  • that guy who bet 1 mil on labour to win… must be fuming

Maybe not. People who bet that much are like most others. Not betting any more than they can afford to lose. Could be like 20 bucks to him.

  • Great to see Clive Palmer fall on his big fat arse.

  • @TheDaBoss I heard sportsbet paid out bets early because it was meant to be a guaranteed win for labor.

  • I have been worried the last few weeks that my son’s future and that of all the other young people in this world, was going to have one more nail driven into it’s coffin. Sadly this has occurred on the back of a used car salesman type ad man, assisted by the deep pockets of a mining mogul that is only concerned with himself and gaining advantage through political means. We have been sold a lemon on the back of fear slogans again.

Like most, I have never been a fan of Shorten, but with a strong team behind, we would have been placed to be a leader in trying to halt the severe damage we are inflicting on our home, this planet. It appears that they have won on the back of the old that were sucked in by untruths, just like in the Brexit decision and our young have to live with it.

My only hope is that it is a minority government, with Haines and Stegall forcing some change in the coalition’s climate approach.

Agree with all of that, future generations are the ones who pay for the stupidity of our decisions. We still have so many people with the ostrich mentality that if you dont believe there is a problem you dont have one

  • Was it the Russians or the Chinese. No must of been Trump. Labour went to the poles with a leader who was only marginally more popular than gonorrhea.
