SIRONEN VS SAILOR IN TUG OF WAR BATTLE

Balmain legend Paul Sironen is calling on all Tiger supporters to get behind him in his Telstra Tug of War battle with Wendell Sailor which is taking place during half time of Saturday night’s game at ANZ Stadium.
The two will go head to head in their efforts to raise money for Telstra Child Flight, the only helicopter service dedicated to saving the lives of children and babies in Australia.
Telstra, who are the major sponsors of the NRL Telstra Premiership, have got the two ex Rugby League legends on board to encourage as many fans from both teams to head down to ANZ Stadium this Saturday night to show their support.
Some lucky fans will be asked to help their respective legend in the actual event but for those who aren’t involved you can still get behind your team by texting 0427 MY TEAM (0427 698 326) and then SMS either DRAGONS or TIGERS.
With every SMS received from now until 9:00am 27 September, 10 cents will go towards the Telstra Child Flight initiative.
The verbal battle has already begun with Sailor claiming that he’s looking forward to beating his rival.
He said, ““It was pretty rough and ready when we were on the field, and I’ve no doubt Siro will turn up this Saturday ready to rumble again. But “I’ll be ready for him and I’m looking forward to taking the bragging rights! It’s also a bit of fun and a great way to raise money for the Telstra Child Flight and the important work they carry out every day.”
However Sironen was quick to send out a warning shot of his own.
““I’ve heard rumours that Dell is pretty confident,” Sironen said. “That’s fine, but it’ll be a different story when he’s falling over himself!”
Telstra Chief Marketing Officer, Kate McKenzie, said the Tug of War challenge was the perfect way to add to the excitement of Telstra Grand Final week.
“These guys played hard on the field and were legends for their respective teams and I’m sure they’re looking forward to going head to head again for the chance to give their team a bit of a mental edge over the other,” Ms McKenzie said.
