Who do you think was the best out of these to players this year? When I say best I mean who was the most consistant, who performed at there highest skill level for the longest, who achieved the most and who did the most to win us football games.
For me Benji was just better than robbie this season.Benji stood up and was the most consistant he has ever been he did some very freakish things (51m drop goal) to win us football games.
Who do you think was better? -
I agree about Benji, I just think he really took a big step this year. He still had the flashy brilliance in him, as we saw in the Melbourne game and Canberra games later in the season, but could reign it in and play simple footy to win us games. Despite this, I think Robbie’s performances this year went a little under the radar in one sense, due to Benji and his form. I think we found a good mix between the two in a playmaking sense, and showed that they can successfully combine with both Moltzen and Lui. Robbie might not have stood out at much, but he still played a key role in most games, seen clearly in the Broncos game, where he came up with a few big plays, including the final one, to get us home.

Sorry I can’t split them but no doubt Benji went better at times this year. I was critical of Robbie early on but maybe we are a bit hard on him and expect too much. At the end of the season they were both top 5 in Dally Ms and that says it all - very hard to seperate! I do think Robbie went well considering the NRL has taken away his most damaging weapon - attacking from dummy half, and Benji still delivered despite being a marked man.
Sometimes Robbie takes the wrong option with a selfish play and there is still the occasion clanger from Benji but I look forward to the season when both of them play to their potential consistantly… because they will be hard to beat!! Hopefully that is 2011.

They both have moments of brilliance and moments that leave you scratching your head, Benji’s kick out on the full in our last game and Robbie’s kick ahead V the Titans both come to mind.
Hard to split them but I get the feeling Benji won us more games, it makes sense that he would be playing a lot better this season considering he has been without injury now for some time and had his first full off season. Good sign fo things to come.

1st half of season: Farah > Benji
2nd half of season: Benji > FarahCan’t split up for throughout the season.
-
yep. NRL has killed farah. He probably only one 1 or 2 penalties in the year for catching markers offside.
its BULL!
I agree they are both pretty equal. Marshall has matured, both still need to work on 5th tackle options though.
-
for me its too close to call. benji probably exceeded my expectations from the start of the yr in that he was a lot more constistent than i thought hed be. obviously i had high expectations of robbie because of his form over the last couple of yrs and he well n truly lived up to those

If you’re talking about consistency then I would have to give it to farah as he consistently makes 30+ tackles and directs the tigers around the park but if you’re talking about winning games I would give it to benji as he has pulled off some freakish plays this year that have helped us win games. Benji’s defence has also improved immensely towards the end of the season. Benji has definately improved more than robbie has but saying that, farah has been better than benji for the past couple of years so they are about even at the moment. Let’s hope they both play to their full potential in every match next year, if that happens I don’t see how we could lose the comp.
-
I think your right there… the ref’s this year have been taking it so easy on the marker defenders all year… which in turn makes robbie’s job much harder…
Also I think robbie done more defense this year… as did benji… but I have them on an equal standing -
Robbie remained at his usual high standard.
Benji improved greatly, esp defence. Probably due to an injury free season. -
Around even I reckon. They both had good years.
-
farah has been defensively solid this year. only a few time has he failed to make over 30 tackles a game.
farah has taken some fancy plays out of his game this year where as benji just hasnt been using it as much -

He always goes high, around the trunk of the big boppers and in turn gets pushed back at least 3 metres. I would much prefer if he went around the legs a la Gibbs and brought these guys down on the spot.

Bagz lost plenty more games for WT than Faffy did…
Faffy won more games for WT than Bagz…
No contest.

Pretty hard to say really as they are different players.
Benji wins us more games but Robbie is more consistent throughout the season. I think Robbie though needs to cut that couple of poor plays out. Benji still comes up with the occassional dud play but (maybe I’m used to it) it seems his poor plays are less costly.
