Seriously, the AFL’s ratings on Foxtel are already pretty soft. Do they really think there is much interest in North Hobart vs Southport Sharks? Sydney University vs Swan Districts?
Fair dinkum, they think they can serve any old crap and people will lap it up…

Any way for the AFL to make a $$$.
They probably saw the Toyota Cup on Fox Sports and thought ‘hey here’s a way for us to make more $$$ through tv!’.
Really if Fox Sports does take this offer up, it will probably just lower the value of their next major tv rights offer for AFL.
Maybe thats why Fox Sports are interested, if they take this up, they can say to the AFL ‘We have this competition so we cant offer you as much for AFL matches’…… Maybe lol
