Each year our depth is starting to be less and less of an issue.
last year we had injuries, but unlike previous years we had young players able to step up and fill the gaps.
At this stage I’m not fussed with the non signing of any marquee players, I’m more happy with the clubs retention of the players we do have. -
i would have thought that the one new player over the past two years has been very successful. i reckon most other clubs would falling over themselves if ellis and tuqiri were on the open market. there a number of young players like dwyer, fifita, murdoch, woods, begovich etc who i think will at some stage over the next year or so will have had or will be regular first graders. there are honestly not that many players of real value that have changed clubs during the off season in my opinion. the dogs have splurged because they had to and it is yet to be seen, and i am very doubtful, if the big bucks they spent on hodkinson and keating will be money well spent

Poor attempt at trolling and ultimately pointless because you’re kidding yourself. Seriously. The Tigers have not needed to push hard in the player market because they don’t need to. Depth at the club has never been stronger and the squad for 2011 is stronger than 2010.
Do you really want to take a look across the squad to see the depth the Tigers have? I’ll do it just to prove a point.
Fullback: McKinnon, Moltzen, Brown, Ryan, Meaney, Mullaney
Wing: Tuqiri, Tuiaki, Ryan, Brown, Latu, Daniela
Centre: Lawrence, Ayshford, Brown, Daniela, Moltzen, Akeripa
Halves: Marshall, Moltzen, Lui, Miller, Fulton, Lawrence
Lock: Heighington, Fulton, Flanagan, Hyland
Backrow: Ellis, Fulton, Payten, Flanagan, Moors, Dwyer, Murdoch-Masila, Schirnack, Akeripa
Hooker: Farah, Fulton, Politoni
Front row: Galloway, Gibbs, Payten, Fifita, Woods, Begovich, Roqica, CaylessYeah, no depth in this squad :deadhorse:

will not win one single game will be lucky to score 10 points a game
bigdamoBig Wally (needs to change his name to Wally) has got no idea, this comment was about the Balmain SG Ball team of which he knows nothing about (like most things) I think someone needs to remove his access as he has nothing good to say about anything.

We are in the stongest position since we hit the field the first time in 2000.
You see the examples of other clubs with major influxes (or turnover) of players not sustaining sucess. The Dogs, Cows Souths spring to mind.
We have built from a local base and and the youngsters of 2005 are now our core as we approach 2011. We only need to suppliment our roster from here on IMO.
2010 was a freak year as our #7 options where reduced for circumstances discussed already.
For me there are a few players like Cayless, Moors,Flanagan and maybe a few juniors who’s future will be decided on form next season. I hope we put some money aside to retain promising Juniors in 2012-13.
I like our squad - Its balanced and almost every player shows great desire and attitude.

We need to keep what we have Great Young Players i would rather keep Woods Fifita Dwyer Murdoch Brown and Begovich than sign Greg Ingies Because thats what we would have to give up to get 1 Greg Ingies
I dont see the point in what you have said you have to remember when things are said there is no crystal ball in hand you have to see it how is at the time and i think many would agree the young players we have should not be let go for one player and the young guys have come along very fast 12-14 months ago every one was saying we need a few fowards not centers playing in the second row
But the hard part will be how Sheens handles it all imagine all these good young forwads all want to play first grade all want more money and than the egos the managers who i think most are greedy pigs will say leave go here more money you deserve it the club has done nothing for you they dont pay you enough leave look after your family
When the club has done so much for themYou have to think do you let go Ellis a little early from contract in a year or two to keep good young forwards so many questions for Sheens in next two years very hard choices to make
And one other thing why i dont understand what you said we finished one game off grand final and had chances to win the game against Saints do you watch WT play football do you know the team is on the way up not down ??
Did you understand what the team achieved in 2010 they finished one game shy of GF with so so many players missing games they playerd for each other as a team and will be better for the next few years to come for it

When you look back at last season, we never really looked dominant. We didn’t go into too many games where I thought we were going to win. We lost our halfback early in the season….
We were flogged by 50, yet we finished one game off a grand final. A one second brain snap during a scrum is what cost us the season. The only game I was confident about was towelling up the Titans in the major semi - but alas it wasn’t to be.
Now we have Moltzen back, our young forwards have more experience and big Ben Murdoch has some first grade experience under his belt. Next season is time…time to be consistent…time to develop…time to believe in our own ability.
We have the best juniors and I am very excited about some of the kids in the 20’s squad this year. Of course we didn’t buy anyone as we need the cash to keep our good juniors and hopefully make a play for the red headed pom. We are stable on and off the park and I am more excited about next year then I have ever been, even with no new signings.
BRING IT ON!

We finished 3rd last year, the juniors are another year on and we hopefully have Tui and Moltzen back.
We have depth right across the park, even in our halves now.
The only thing that is worse than your argument, is your lack of a properly structured sentence.

No need to smash our own Guys. BigD is entitled to his Opp…
How ever we could all do with a bit of punctuation in our posts. (I struggled with Regan’s post)
-
Whoa… no depth?
We used 32 or 33 players this season… the 3rd most. Suffered injuries in key positions and still made it one game out from the final…
No depth?
Pshhhhhh rubbish

There’s no point in signing players just for the sake of it … There were no real good players on the market this season anyway. The big name deals like Hannant and Inglis were all done privately and not really shopped to the market. I think the re-signing of guys like Ellis, Marshall, Farah, Heighno, Fulton and hopefully soon Lawrence is just as crucial as adding one more ‘marquee’ player.
Take Parramatta’s activity in the player market this year. Carl Webb, Reni Maitua, Chris Walker, Chris Hicks, Paul Whatuira … all has-beens.

I can;t believe this trollpost is getting so much attention! It must be the offseason.
It is good to see how confident we all are in the team though. Speaking only for myself I don;t remember the last offseason where I felt this positive about the lineup and our chances (maybe the offseason after '05).

Having Moltzen/Tui back will be like signing a marquee player.
Before we sign anyone we will need to lose someone as there cant be much money left under the cap.
