Just read a brief report on the Foxsports site that Brendan ‘The Flasher’ Fevola, the gAyFL ‘superstar’ was arrested at 4.30am while ‘enjoying’ NYE by Fortitude Valley police.
The arrest has been confirmed by Brisbane Lions officials with more details to come, after what happened at St Kilda with an underage girl and now this buffoon back in the news surely Rugby League can top this, just kidding! :righton: . -
RL has to stand up, we cant let AFL get away with all this controversey. Someone [edited by moderating team] do something!
-
I know this is said a lot, but imagine the ribbing Fevola would constantly get if he played in the NRL. The guy makes Todd Carney look like a modern day saint.
-
Hopefully it spells the end of his AFL career. He clearly needs a wakeup call and if that involves a spell behind bars then so be it.
-
A really good player TBH but a low shameless character. If he was in NRL, I would rather go for Bulldogs than have this low life peanut with the Tigers.
-
Brisbane have been looking for an excuse to punt him and stupid Brendan has given them one.
A-grade idiot…

barring from assulting someone ….who really gives a crap, its NYE…ffs they can cut loose like every other human being…im sure there was 100 worse things happen that night that dont get air time…seriously

He broke the law and he’s a supposed to be a professional athlete and a role model to kids. He can ‘cut loose like every other human being’ as long as does it within the confines of the law. He stuffed up and now he has to deal with whatever consequences come his way.

You may be right and it may be a relatively minor matter but if I was on 500k (or whatever he gets) and knew my employer was looking for a reason to sack me, I’d be inclined to steer clear of any event that might lead to be getting the elbow. He’s got a long time after he retires to get smashed and cause problems.
Besides he has a track record as a goose of the highest order. Some people never learn and Fervola seems like one of those people. The way the bloke gambles, he might be the first AFL player to finish in the red.

sorry i forgot that because you kick a football for a living means you cant get smashed on new years eve…who said he is supposed to be a role model?..role models are your parents and family… this is just a press beat up like it was for JT…

No but it means you become a public figure and therefore should act and behave accordingly… are you kidding? As you get older no doubt you start to idolise people such as your parents, as a kid… comeon… I played soccer for years and idolised Marco Van Basten, just as my friend who played stricker next to me idolised Roberto Baggio…
Then I started skating… and I idolised Rodney Mullen and Chad Muska.
Who you idolise depends on your interests and hobbies…
But hey… yes child should only idolise their parents
.

You seem totally ignorant of the fact he was given a lawful direction by Police and then became aggressive towards them and failed to move on - which is why he got arrested. An AFL player of his stature knows that they are in the public limelight and are role models for young kids growing up playing the game. Again you’re showing your ignorance by simply referring to role models as your friends and family - a role model can be anyone. Press beat up or not, he is in this situation thanks to his own doing.
-
Some idiots never cease to amaze me. They need to get over themselves and grow up. As soon as they realize the world doesn’t revolve around them, the better off we’ll be. The sooner he gets rubbed out of here the better we’ll all be……again.

And I suppose you think players such as Benji Marshall and Jarryd Hayne aren’t role models to young Rugby League players? Your ignorance astounds me.
