I haven’t heard anything about the upgrade, new club or whatever. Driving past it the other week and seeing it empty was sad for me as I’ve had awesome times there. Is there any news on the new development? Is it a bonus for us now we have merit on on board? Anybody shed some light for me?

All I know is the DA was rejected last year , old news but havent heard anything since
-
Yeah the problem (as always) is Leichhardt Council. You mean Meriton? They are sponsoring Wests Tigers so it doesn’t really have an impact on Balmain Leagues Club. Possibly they’re waiting until after the election…

so what exactly does that mean.

for one year, two years or more or can they reapply tomorrow. -
I guess there’d be reasons for the rejection, height, aesthetics, traffic/parking etc…I assume if they address these issues, re-draw plans and re-submit they may be more succesful. Costly exercises though I imagine

Ah i forgot that its closed atm. I was planning to go there for the first time after the Tigers Warriors game. Where else could anyone recommend for post game beers?

If they have a post match presentation, it’s usually at Tigers Five Dock which is the bowling club in Five Dock
Park, about 10 minutes drive away from Leichhardt Oval.

Realistically unless the new desigin calls for a building made of hemp leaf and tofu squares, LMC will vote against anything of a decent scale. Seems like Land and Environment will be the key and a new government might mean new legislation.

Balmain are on the verge of extinction. They no longer have an open age rugby league team and they operate from tiny clubs that bare their name .
Wests Tigers are the future.
