We have the squad to win - Farah
WESTS Tigers captain Robbie Farah says his side is ready to make amends for last year’s heartbreaking exit from the finals - without adding any new players to their roster.
The Tigers have kept the faith with the squad that missed a grand final berth when St George Illawarra pipped them with a field goal.Farah and coach Tim Sheens insist the return of injured utility Tim Moltzen and a fully fit Wade McKinnon will provide the Tigers with two high-quality additions.
“It’s a positive,” Farah said. “You tell me who a new signing is going to come in and replace. I can’t see a spot that needs to be filled. I think we’ve got a really balanced squad.”
Moltzen returns in round one after missing most of last season with a ruptured knee, while mid-season recruit McKinnon has recovered from the hamstring problems that plagued him after he left the Warriors.
Farah said that unlike 2006, when complacency crept in following the club’s fairytale premiership win in 2005, the Tigers will be fired up to make amends for last year.
“Coming so close last year and falling just short is only going to make us hungrier,” he said.
“I’ll be pushing the boys at training not to think that falling one game short is good enough, because it’s not. Last year’s experience, if anything, will be a positive for us.”
Back at training after a holiday in Thailand and Fiji following the Four Nations series, Farah ranks the Dragons loss alongside his two Origin defeats in 2009.
“Losing that game by a point [when] you’re so close to a grand final hurts a lot,” he said. “But you learn from those experiences and they make you a better player and, hopefully, a better team.”

good to see that Robbie is confident, about 2011 chances.
first off have a good solid season, and qualify for semi’s.
beat the rabbitiohs, at least once this coming season.
maybe this season the footy god’s will smile on wests-tigers in relation to injuries.
as a supporter, strap yoursef in for the wests-tigers footy season roller coaster, who knows what is going to happen.
we just have to get ready for the ride. -
No tuiaki mentioned was my first thought aswell! Ive got a real bad feeling that we will not see him again! Geez i hope this feeling is wrong!!!

I think it’s all a shifty sheens plot to spread these rumors and keep Tui out of the spotlight, only to unleash him at him at his rampaging best round 1.

I’m with you Robbie!

If Only HT…
I’d be happy to see TNT come off the bench for his return in round 22.
He and Benji are my boys favourites.

Hmm its a little interesting that they mentioned Moltzen and Mckinnon as though they will be in the side together.
I really cannot wait to see what Mr Sheens will do with the Half and Fullback roles. -
Have to agree with Mr Farah that we’ve got the squad to go all the way.
It will be pretty disappointing if we don’t walk away with a Premiership in the next 3-4 years. I just worry that last year might have been our year, but fate stood against us
hopefully I’m wrong

I would literally cry if Tuiaki doesn’t play Rd 1!!
For me, he is the most entertaining player EVER! The look on his face when he scores a try. The way he runs over player like speedbumps.
I want this guy with the No.2 on his back playing for the Tigers Rd.1!!!
