Jay has been named at 7 with Matt Mundine at 6 for Souths trial against Newtown on saturday week (the so-called return to Redfern game)!

As per my previous thread this is the game in which Ross has been named captain & George Burgess is to make his club debut!

The squad is purely Souths NYC & Nth Sydney NSW Cup players (aside from Ross - although if he makes it through the game I can see him spending alot of time on Miller Street)!!

alien - I’ve already posted the anticipated squad in the “your team for our 1st trial” thread as reported in my local paper!

Sheens has given BRET coach Paul Fletcher the job of preparing the team for the Cows game and it will include (unless training injuries come into account):

          Mullaney
          Latu
          Matt Ryan
          Daniela
          Jake Clarke
          Meaney
          Miller
          Jarred Farlow
          Jason Schirnack
          Flanagan
          Moors
          Hyland
          Al Schirnack

That is not the starting 13 - but all of them will be there if fit!

I’m not surprised Sheens has given Fletcher the job of preparing the side because it basically looks like the 2011 Balmain Ryde Eastwood side!

Yeah - aside from Mullaney, Daniela, Clarke, Miller, Hyland and Moors (6 out of 13 - or 46% - you dunce)!!!

I’m sure Davis, Rips & Pearn should also get a run! As I said - that is not the starting team - just locally named squad members!

So you’re sure none of those players will play for Balmain Ryde Eastwood in 2011?

No room for them mate - your Maggies can have them!

However I’ll apologise alien - because I did initially read your post as “2010” BRET team!

While I put on the dunce’s cap - I’ll reiterate that aside from BRET incumbents like the Schirnacks, Meaney, Latu, Ryan & Farlow - our depth needs to be spread to both NSW Cup teams otherwise some blokes will not get any game-time at that level!

As such - I hope you guys retain Daniela, Moors & Mullaney (+ get Jake Clarke) when available! I’m undecided on Miller - but if we took Waters (not that I’m happy about having that pedestrian geriatric) - maybe you blokes should get the youngster!

From what I’ve heard Moors, Daniela and Akeripa are aligned with BRET this year. Not sure about Mullaney, heard he’ll be running out for Wests.

Miller at 7 for the first trial will be interesting… Wonder if Sheens is thinking like Wayne Bennett for a change and we will see this kid from the bench in the first half of 2011 in the NRL??!!!

Wasnt it only 18 months ago we didnt have options in the halves, and now we have too many (if thats possible)…

I was aware of Akeripa moving to BRET - but Moors & Daniela is news to me! What about Josh Davis?

I really am struggling to work-out how they will all fit into a weekly 17 for BRET given the core of 2010 players that are still there!

Forwards alone we have the likes of Farlow, Schirnack X2, Vunakece, Achurch, Davidson, Tovo, Flanagan, Hyland, D Fifita, Akeripa, Curran, Woods, Roqica, Politoni and now Moors!!

Todays tele has Florimo on the bench, but yeh he was never gonna make here, but Sandow is a better target for him.

Dave Fifita is unlikely, Politini, Woods and Junior will likely play alot of NYC.

I wouldn’t be suprised to see Hyland in a non back row position.

There is still so much in the air though. Moors and Daniella were pretty much confirmed from my knowledge of it though

Do you have any idea where David is likely to be smeg - there has been no formal news of him moving or training with another club? Or has he just been scrap-heaped?

I know that the three boys are still eligible for NYC - but I was of the understanding that Sheens wants Woods & Junior to get some time playing against the big boys!!

Junior has obviously already played plenty of footy for BRET on the wing in 2009 after missing NYC training - but has not played at that level since his shift into the forwards!
