Well....that was sure disappointing

First up I would like to say that on the night the best side won and many congrats to the shaggers. They ran it harder and they hit us harder. Their little men cut us to shreds.

To our boys - it was a frustrating year right from round one. Some heartbreaking injuries, some shocking losses, some inspired victories….the club was in turmoil mid season and we pulled it together to win 9 straight and charge into the finals. Superb effort by all involved. They say being a tiger man is a rollercoaster ride and for the past 30 years I have experienced it all. Season 2011 was no different.

To the boys leaving us…Brycey, Moltz, Flanno and Macca thankyou for mostly wearing our jumper with pride …especially Gibbo. Such a shame you couldnt go out on top. Look forward to watching your careers in the years to come. You will all always be tigers…just former from now on.

To the tigers fans cheers for another great year of heated arguments, passion filled discussions and mateship - both at the games and on here. Heaps of fun and something that I’ll always come back to.

As for the game tonight, I thought we looked tired. It has been such a gargantuan effort just to make the 8 that I’m sure it has taken a lot out of the boys and they tried hard but for mine watching live at the game, the outcome was almost inevitable as soon as the second half started. I agree with those who have said that Gall, Woodsie, Fults and Moltz were our best tonight. We looked good at stages but overall they were making it out of their end with such apparent ease that I was dreading the final 15 minutes. Unfortunately we couldnt hang on.

As for season 2012, there is a lot to be excited about…We are welcoming good players in Reddy and Humble, an international in Blair, a rejuvenated Chris Lawrence and maybe someone else to boot ( theres always an off season surprise…). Not to mention Lui has come along nicely, Woods is now an established front rower with a massive future, Groat is improving, Beau had his best season ever, Aysh and Heighno are constantly improving as well. Gareth, Benji, Robbie and Gall should go on the 4 nations tour and return more complete players. We are still young enough and hungry enough to mix it with the best again next year.

…and lastly, to that meatheaded coconut sitting behind me tonight, who caused havoc at full time, I hope your head is as sore as my hand is 😎

Alright I’m off to the casino to finish the night off before heading home tomoz…Peace out Tiger clan, keep your chins up, tomorrows a new day.

what did he do??? 😆

goodluck at the casino!

He was just a complete mess. Spraying beer all over people in front of him, swearing at every tigers supporter who looked at him, started a push and shove with a bloke who was walking past him in his late 50’s…possibly early 60’s.

He was your typical standover type and drunk as hell. Anyway when he slapped one of my mates who told him to shutup I belted him. He came back for more so he got it…then the coppers took him lol…

Casino wasnt too bad, plenty of tigers and warriors supporters drinking together and talking footy. Played poker till 4.30 then headed back.

About to head back to 'berra in our makeshift tiger themed combi…should cop a heap of crap I’d say lol. What can you do?..grin and bear it, cant win them all…

Seriously from the first minute of the second half they were running over the top of us. In fact any time they had the ball in our half I think it was trouble. They were a far better side on the night. There little men were more elusive, there kicking game was better and there forwards were more dangerous.

We have several problems but still severely miss a tough playmaker at these pivital moments. The same as 2010, it came down to 2 plays at the end, one from us where we did a poor option on the last, and then theres, where they had a great option on the last which won them the game.

Well done stryker he sounded like a complete ass- hole, excuse the language & i hope you made it back to Canberra o.k.

do u ever play in the apl, stryker???

Is that the one that goes around the pubs? If so yeah I used to a bit. Usually like the casino or a mates place though.

Well said Stryker, very emotional for me reading that! :bawling

Not the bit about the idiot behind you 😒

it seemed the RSA monitors at the bars at the SFS werent doing there job last night

This thread and the posts in it are a little less emotional and a little more accurate than in some other threads.
"We have several problems but still severely miss a tough playmaker at these pivital moments." This is the crux of most of the problems we have. While we are very fortunate to have Benji “run” the team’s attack until we get into a winning position, his “off-the-cuff” decisions later in games can cost us plenty.
I think in 2005, Prince was the right man to keep the tream on the straight and narrow, when we had the game won and just had to make sure we did not grab defeat out of the jaws of the “win”.
We seem to lack this quality in our team at the moment. Hopefully, Lui may become that controlling influence, when we are in a winning position.
When we ran the ball on the fifth, leading by two and with four minutes to go …… and you all know the rest!

Good post Stryker, did you make it back to Canberra ok or did you pull over and have a snooze on the way home in the kombi first??
