Cooper Vuna has tweeted he is set to quit Melbourne Rebels.
If we had the Money, would you want him ??

Hell yeah. But the priority should be a proper fullback.
-
sure

I love my union and watch it non stop and especially the rebels cause their new, but I find he’s definitely a better league centre than union, but yeh I would take him, we have too many backs though, so if we bought him u would have to move Lawrence into fullback I reckon or just make him a backrower from the bench

We won’t have the dosh unfortunately for Vuna
-
probably need to wait for the Lui outcome before they can sign anyone and not sure if we have a spot for him anyway? With Beau, Lote, Rowdy, Blake and Mitch as fullback (my choice), theres no need having more when we have Reddy and Grant. If we lose Lui, we have Miller but would be good to have another half option to cover bad form or injury? So yeh, its a no from me…
-
No spot in the squad for him IMO. We have Reddy covering these positions.
-
Yeah and there’s this little thing called a salary cap.
I think we are covered in the backs tbh.

Actually I thnk were far from covered in the backs…our run on wingers next year are Tuqiri(absolutely dreadful in his last few matches on return from injury,& 33 next year) and Ryan (absolutely dreadful for the past season and a half, but a very solid back half to 2011 which hopefully continues).
If they dont make it or are injured,& assuming Reddy plays fullback(& realistically there arent many other options),weve only got Grant(unproven),Brown(still a fringe first grader) as cover.Utai will probably be re-signed,but his weaknesses on the wing are well chronicled,& he isnt getting any younger either.
Vuna was a dynamic ball carrier for Rebels at start of season, but defensive lapses which somehow are more easily exposed in Union(dont ask me why) caught him out many times,& he has no future in International Rugby.
If he has the right attitude & is affordable Vuna wld make an outstanding acquistion & quite frankly wld make a better winger in 2012 than our two incumbents mentioned above -

We are paying big dollars to Ellis, Blair, Farah, Marshall and Lawrence.
Then you have guys like Galloway and Tuqiri who would be on good money too.
I agree there are some question marks over Lote - he just looked “off” this season, the size and power seemed to be missing. Hopefully a good off-season and better luck with injuries will see him have a better 2012.
So with Brown, Humble, Reddy, Lawrence, Ryan, Ayshford, Simona, Grant, Utai (probably) I think we are pretty close to being covered.

With no Dwyer and lilely no Lui in 2012 we cld probably afford Vuna under the cap,& he will prove a valuable addition for some club, but the real risk is we’d have way too much of our salary cap invested in outside backs, whilst simultaneosly being without an established no 7 or no1.
Not a very good balance
On the other hand there just arent any decent no 1s or 7s available on the market,so if do we have $$ left over to spend…? -
From what I’ve seen and heard, his attitude is absolute shit. Bagging out players he doesn’t even know etc.
No thanks.

We need a half and fullback right now, no point signing wingers right now.
